Hi All,

First time poster here. I'm going to Disney World for my Honeymoon from December 31st to January 11th. We'll be staying at the Honeymoon suite at the Polynesian for the first three days and then migrating to the All Star Resorts (Movies) for the rest of the trip.

I've been to DW about 7 times in my life, with the last time being in early 2001. My finance has gone twice, with the last time being in the mid-1990's.

We currently have reservations for

Dec 31: A Limousine to take us from the Airport to the Polynesian

Jan 1: Spirit of Aloha

Jan 2: Breakfast at Cinderella's Castle.

Jan 4: Circue De Soleil Section

Jan 5: 80 Min Couples Massage at the Grand Floridian

Jan 7: Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's

Jan 11: Limousine to take us back to the airport

Does anyone have any suggestion for anything else I should add?

Thanks,
Mike

I'm not sure what time you arrive at the Poly, but maybe you could have dinner at a monorail resort on your first night? Maybe California Grill? Or if you feel like staying put, you could do Kona at the Poly. I would recommend trying some Epcot restaurants as well. My favorites are Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Marrakesh, and Nine Dragons.

We are arriving at around 7:00 AM off of an overnight flight, so we are probably going to want to crash for a while, I just hope we can get into our rooms soon.

Since it is going to be New Year's Eve, we wanted to go to Pleasure Island. Does anyone know what time we should plan to go there to insure that we don't get locked out? I understand it fills up to its maximum capacity on new years eve and they don't let more people in.

But yea, Dinner or lunch at the monorail restaurant sounds like a good idea. Do I need reservations for that? How about for Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Marrakesh, or Nine Dragons?

Thanks,
Mike

Make reservations for all of your meals ASAP. Le Cellier and Coral Reef (among others) fill up extremely quickly. Make as many reservations as you can now, and you can always change things up later, but at least you will have something on the books.

Hey mike,
I am also planning a honeymoon at WDW for next summer, and although I have not done either of these things yet, I have done a lot of research, and the 3 I'd say you should consider are:

1) Dinner at california grill, and try to time itso you can see wishes over the magic kingdom

2) The Fantasmic dinner at MGM, they have 3 places you can have dinner and then you get reserved seats for the show.

3) At Epcot, there are 2 places that have seating where you can watch Illuminations while eating dinner, I think San Angel Inn and Rose and Crown. You have to hope you get seats out on the patio though.

If anyone has done any of these, let me know how they worked out and if it was worth it.

Hey mike,
3) At Epcot, there are 2 places that have seating where you can watch Illuminations while eating dinner, I think San Angel Inn and Rose and Crown. You have to hope you get seats out on the patio though.

You can definitely eat at Rose and Crown and see Illuminations. Even if you don't get a patio seat your server will escort you to the deck if you'd like to see the fireworks.

You can also see the show from the Cantina in Mexico (can't recall what exactly its called) but its totally outside. Cantina is a CS meal not a TS one though. You can not see Illuminations from the San Angel Inn as its totally enclosed in the Mexico pavilion. But on the flip side if you want a meal kind of romantic then the San Angel Inn can definitely be that. Its very dark and candlelit plus you have a view of the river ride in Mexico with the lovely volcano.

I went this past January (with my kids and mom) and I wanted to give a few pointers.

If you were planning on going to a waterpark make sure you go the first available day that is warm enough as there might not be another one. The weather was great when we went but we needed a light jacket most days.
If you have already been to DW in Jan. I apologize.

When my fiance and I were talking about going alone(without kids) he was going to do the Nascar thing where you train for like an hour and then get to drive a stock car.

We also talked about going to the comedy club and adventurers club which I saw you were trying to go to DTD on NYE but I would try one of these on another night.

Plan heavier park hitting after the first week as the park attendance slows greatly. We never saw huge crowds except the very first Pirate and Princess party and the Saturday night after it at MK.

Cirque du Soleil was awesome:thumbsup2

Maybe you would be interested in an Illuminations cruise or a Wishes Cruise(I would like that on my honeymoon).

Since the first 3 days you are staying at the Poly maybe you should have those days all about relaxation and nice meals(after the NYE partying of course).
Then pep it up when you move to the AllStar.

Hope I helped a little.
Have a great time and congratulations.
