Suggestions for LOOKING good in FL heat?

The seat covers in all the RestRooms around Disney are great for blotting oily faces. Privately, I take one and gently apply to the face. It REALLY takes care of the shine! I've found that a good haircut a couple weeks before, simple makeup--sunscreen, mascara and a colorful eyeliner, lipstick with SFP are about all you need. Try visors instead of a full hat this trip:goodvibesA big smile and you're all set for a beautiful picture!

I'm a huge fan of philosophy's Supernatural. It's a tinted, pore-minimizing sunblock. Not greasy at all! It is a little spendy...but it's so fantastic I don't mind. I wear it without make-up over top in the summer especially. Easy Breezy!

Nothing ever works for me

Visor is much cooler than a hat and I manage to maintain a hairdo sometimes around it -I style my short hair so it works in the visor. I don't put it on usually until the first photopass pic in the park entrance so I get a few good ones in before I start to melt. It also catches any sweat from the head (I sweat from the head first if anyone has any suggestions for that!) and prevents it from running down your face!

I love the toilet cover idea!

Thank you for posting this!!! I used to have a tinted sunblock from Aveda, but I couldn't find it anywhere anymore. Do you get this philosophy stuff from Sephora?

I realize this is a completely silly and vain question, but has anyone found a way to decrease shine? Between June heat, sunscreen, and sweating, I end up looking like a wet tomato with a hat in all my pictures. Has anyone found a "matte" sunscreen? Maybe a pore minimizer?

My other idea was to just take some facial/makeup wipes and just stop to clean my face and reapply sunscreen every so often...

Nivea makes a "dry touch" sunscreen that I have used successfully to keep me looking like and oil pit.

After spending significant time straightening my hair and applying makeup, I walked out of our room to smoldering heat, only to get caught in a sudden downpour, by then I was frizzy and my makeup was gone. I proceeded to get soaked on Splash Mountain and then dd decided to drip her Mickey Ice Cream all over my leg while we waited for the parade all the while sweating like a pig. :crazy2:

The next day I woke up, showered, threw on some sunscreen, waterproof mascara and put the hair up in a ponytail and off we went. It was a battle I knew I would never win.

Neutrogena also makes a nice one - Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock - available in different SPF's, up to SPF 85.

I live in a year round hot climate - the Neutrogena sunblock is the only one I can stand for daily use! It's lightweight, non-sticky, with a pleasant scent and works like a dream. Our DD's dermatologist recommended it and I've fallen in love! I've used the SPF 45 and the SPF 70. Both were very effective.

Check out the Amazon link below for pricing for the SPF 85 version:

Hope this helps!

I have super curly hair that likes to frizz in hot weather. The last two times I was in FL heat I bought the sample kit from Ouidad. http://www.ouidad.com/ . It worked really well. I also like Ojon's products from QVC and recently discovered MorrocanOil brand. I was told they are coming out w/ a shampoo and conditioner, can't wait to try it! For makeup, I used Bare Essentials and didn't have a problem w/ sunburn on my face but I usually tan anyway.

I order mine from QVC (such an addict...it's really bad) but I know you can get it at Sephora. You can definitely save on S&H if there's one close to you. Since I'm about 3hours from Sephora, QVC works just as well :)

BeccaBellePA, you def. intrigued me w/ the Philosophy sunscreen. Any excuse to go to Sephora!! Have you tried the matching line?

The blush looks cool http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P205728&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=3866

or have you tried the foundation? TIA!

I haven't tried the matching line...But I love an excuse to try something new from Philosophy! Thanks for the find! :)

Try "Clean and Clear" brand oil blotting sheets (you can get them at any drugstore). I'm addicted to those things! I have had oily skin most of my life (and I'm 46 now!) and these work really well.

I also found that using Kleenex brand wet wipes is very refreshing - I even use them on my face when I'm really hot and sweaty. For some reason, I like Kleenex brand wipes the best, better than Wet Ones or other generic brands. Great for oily skin.

Do the blotting sheets wipe off your makeup?
