suggestions for daughter's first visit

My DD isn't necessarily the type of kid who loves lots of strangers paying attention to her, like singing happy birthday in a restaurant kind of thing, but I'm wondering if there's advantages to drawing attention to the fact that its her first visit? DD is 11.5.
I noticed on dining reservations you can put a special event, including 'first visit', so I don't know if maybe she'd get a different dessert, etc.
I've seen something about first visit pins? Is this something I should have designated on my ressie?
Thanks! SO EXCITED to be leaving in 7 days!! She says she's not super excited yet, because she doesn't know what to be excited about (since she's not been there). I'm bursting-at-the-seams excited!

I also would like her to have a lanyard type thing that she can use to hold her key card, cell phone (in case we get separated), Disney dollars. I'm wondering if they sell anything like that around the resorts? (staying at Pop)

The "First Time Visit" Pins are a nice, low-key way to celebrate the first visit. Our girls got them on their last visit. No singing or confetti associated...

You can call the reservations line, or go on-line to add a "celebration"...but I'm sure you could probably just mention it at check-out and the CM will give you a pin!

they sell lanyard type things meant for pin trading and money at the resort but while I am not sure about a cell, they will hold her cards and some money. I embarrassed my sister quite a bit on her first visit by telling everyone because she would not wear the pin. There were some people who made a bigger deal of it but not everyone. She did get some funny comments and extra stickers from the dvc sales rep even though she was older. I hope you have lots of fun. Pop is a great resort and she will definitely have fun. I hope you get some towel mickeys because that makes it even better.

Mousekeeping will not know this is your daughter's first visit. If you get towel animals, it will be pure chance.
