Suggestions for Christening Gift?

Hello! We are going to my nephew's Christening this weekend. We already got him a savings bond, but I really want to get something else to put with it. The only two things I could think of were a cross for his room or a bank. My sister, who is his godmother, already got him a cross for his room, and he already has a few banks that he got when he was born. Does anyone have any suggestions for something I could get him? I want it to be something he'll be able to keep as he gets older. Thanks in advance!!

What about one of those Teddy Bear snuggle blankets that have the baby's name and date of birth embroidered on them?

How about a Precious Moments bible? You could write a note inside the cover. Maybe this website can give you ideas.

My DB gave my DD 2 shares of Disney stock...it is a beautiful certificate that was framed!

One thing my mom always gives along with the savings bond is a Mickey baby fork & spoon set. You could also check out some place like Things Engraved. They usually have some nice things.

I got DGD an angel nightlight for her room.

I've been given night lights, crosses, frames, banks, and money. My sister was given a frame that had a place for the picture on one side and on the other was a plce to put the babies handprint or footprint in clay that was provided. I thought that was really a neat idea.

there are some cute religious kid's books out there. You could get a few of those (i.e., the story of Noah's Ark, etc.)

My daughter received a Precious Moments bible. It is something she will have forever.

We bought a dogwood tree for my nephew's christening. That was 17 years ago. Every spring, when it flowers, it reminds all of us of that day.

My BIL & SIL have taken every birthday picture, Communion photo, Confirmation photo and 8th grade graduation photo in front of that tree.

It's a beautiful, living memento of his christening.
