Suggestions for celebrating birthday at AKL?!?!

We have finally made our decision and we are staying at AKL...that's where the boys want to be!

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do while we are there for our son's 7th birthday? Has anyone had a birthday at AKL?

We are scheduled for the Ohana breakfast on his birthday....what's the fastest and best way to get to the Poly from AKL? We will have our own vehicle...but if bus is more efficient, we could do that as well.

We will be staying at AKL in December and celebrating my son's 16th birthday. We are planning to take him to Sci Fi Theater for lunch ( his favorite restaurant there), and while we are gone have a cake delivered. They will bring a cake to your room and have it there so when you get back it will be a surprise. The number is 407-938-4720 to order. They need 24 hour notice and charge a $3 delivery fee along with a 15% automatic gratuity. They have cakes priced from $12.50 up. It includes the napkins, plates and silverware.

Is that the disney dining number?? or one of the AKL's restaurants?? We will be there in Jan./Feb. and will be celebrating a birthday......... I'd be interested in doing something like this.

Cambra........ I know that the WDW florist has gift baskets. If I can find the link I'll post it for you to look at what they have. I'm actually making an "arrival" basket for my DS and it will be given to him when we check - in. You could do something like that.......?? Did you consider doing Chef Mickey's for his b-day? My DS loves that........ perhaps if you contact them, they could actually bring the cake out to him after he eats?? It's worth looking into if you are interested. Again, I'll look for the link for wdwflorist.

The phone number is for the bakery. It is a direct line to them. I can't remember how I got it, but I called a couple weeks ago to see how much time was needed to order the cake and cost etc... I have seen other posts and pictures of cakes that were ordered and every one seems to be happy with the cakes ordered.

I've seen the other threads as well with the pics of cakes that were ordered, and they are gorgeous!!! I was just wondering if you got yours from the resort itself or somewhere else. ( I'm assuming it is the GF bakery?? is that right, or another one?) Do you happen to have a pic of your cake that you could post?
