I am looking for a fun place to visit in Virginia. We live in Southwestern Virginia and would prefer a place no more than 2 hours away (can be in any direction - towards upstate Virginia, North Carolina, or Tennessee).

There will be 3 Adults, 2 Kids. We will have approximately 2 days to visit.

Any ideas or suggestions? :Pinkbounc

Thanks! :goodvibes

Woah I skipped a few letters in the title of the thread. :rotfl: Read that completely differently.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help. :rotfl2:

Carowinds in NC .. a fun place to visit..

Thanks. That's one option we are looking at.

We are also thinking at Natural Bridge, VA. Anyone know anything about that place?

DH and I went to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch gardens. We enjoyed them both. Don't know if this helps. Hope so :goodvibes

What kind of stuff are you looking for? Adventure filled? Relaxing?

Have you ever been to Boone and/or Ashe County, NC? It is beautiful there and if you like white water rafting that could be an option for you there.

Of course Boone and Blowing Rock and even Ashe County are just cool places to visit anyway. If you are interested I can give you more info.

I'm headed to Natural Bridge for the Easter weekend. We are staying at the Natural Bridge Inn and Conference center (the one already mentioned). There is also a wax museum and a toy factory museum up there. We are going to hit all of those this weekend!

I went when i was a kid and I have wonderful memories of walking the trails and climbing the hills!!

Ooooh, can I help?

Let's see:
Skyline Drive. You can stay at Skyland or Big Meadows. If you stay at Big Meadows, there's horseback riding. Beautiful drive, with plenty of scenic stopoffs. You can pick it up from I64 or go up to New Market or Front Royal and head in from that way. (This is why I moved away from NY, it was so pretty)

Massanutten. Within an hour's drive you have Skyline Drive and several caverns.

Natural Bridge. Nice place to stay, beautiful photo ops. Kinda partial to this as the leaves change, but YMMV.

You say two hours, but Richmond has tons to do in and around. Robert E. Lee's home for the history buff and King's Dominion is about 40 minutes north.

If you didn't mind a four hour drive, VIRGINIA BEACH!

THANK YOU!!! I'm in the process of researching all the places mentioned. Thank you again. :cool1: :thumbsup2

All of the above. :teeth:

I have passed through both Boone and Jefferson. Would love to do some white water rafting! Where? How much?

If you don't mind, I would love more information. Thanks! :sunny:
