On our first full day - a Saturday in early April we will be blocked out with our DAP's. It will be our first full day - we will have travelled almost a full day the day before so we'll be up really early that day (time difference) and we'll start falling asleep by late afternoon:goodvibes

We originally thought we'll pay the $50 each to unblock our tickets but feel there may be a better use of $150, especially seeing we'll have 5 more full days in the parks.

The obvious thing to do that day would be to chill around the pool that day (but I hear weather can be a little unpredictable in April) so what other suggestions do you have for spending the time? We wont have a car BTW and we'll be staying at the CCI.

I would book a character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen. We stay at least an hour and a half there and take our time eating and taking photos and trying out all the lovely dishes and desserts.

Then I would plan some shopping in Downtown Disney. We always buy one ornament and a charm for my bracelet so that would be a good time after you've eaten to get any shopping done. My kids love pin trading so we also make sure to bring our pins so they can pin trade with the CM's in the stores.

Then some pool, relaxing time (if it's chilly go for the jacuzzi) in the afternoon and then a dinner somewhere in DTD or even ESPN zone. We love Whitewater snacks in the GC. You can sit outside on the patio and hear the sounds of the park. It's so peaceful there.

For us the weather would be too cold for pools - but you might get lucky. Other than that I am with kk here. Hit some of the DTD or hotel restaurants. And get some of your shopping done in DTD. Watch some sports at ESPN Zone - American baseball and basketball most likely in April. :)

Whoops, sorry, mis-read the post and thought you would have a car. Go with the Garden Walk.

Once we get into the Disney mood, it's hard to tear ourselves away, so if you have any interest in doing something non-Disney, I would suggest using your block-out day for that. The Garden Walk is within walking distance of the Candy Cane Inn. There are a number of restaurants there, a bowling alley, and a movie theater.

We went down to sea world on one of our early days last month - it made a nice "easy" day to recover from the jet lag after the 11 hour flight and 24+ hours you're awake on that travelling / arrival day.

Can't remember how much it cost us, but it wasn't too bad - we booked it through grayline so tickets and transport were included :thumbsup2

Without a car, a great place to visit would be Knotts Berry Farm. It's much cheaper than Disneyland, and would add a bit of variety to your trip. You can probably catch a shuttle there for very cheap. Also, at Knotts you can meet Snoopy!

When we had a blocked out day, we went to Garden Walk for lunch and spent time looking around DTD. It seems that even when we go for 5 days, we still don't have time to see much of DTD! We also considered the bowling alley at Garden Walk, but didn't bowl after all.
