I'm thrilled that DH has asked me to plan the weekend trip to WDW for our anniversary that I'd hoped for! Our anniversary is Friday, July 8th. We're planning on flying down on Thursday evening, and flying home Sunday night. This gives us only 2 full days, 1 late evening, and 1 half day to enjoy our time there. (We can't stay any longer than these 3 nights because 2 weeks before this, we'll be doing a 9-night caribbean cruise and DH won't have much, if any, vacation time left).

We are not "commando" type park people. This is what I have in mind:

Arrive Thursday evening: Check into resort (Most likely the Wilderness Lodge), grab a bite to eat either at the resort, and/or head down to Downtown Disney and grab a bite there. Explore the resort more before bed, maybe a late swim.

Friday: Our Anniversary! :) Kona Cafe (Polynesian resort) for Tonga toast, then spend the day at MK visiting these attractions: Haunted Mansion, Hall of Presidents, Pirates of the Caribbean, Small World, Buzz Lightyear, and the new 3D show, I believe it's called Mickey's Philharmagic.

Late Friday afternoon: Head over to MGM to have dinner at our favorite park restaurant, 50's Primetime. We LOVE the pot roast there! Then we can stay at MGM to see Fantasmic which DH has never seen.

Saturday: Start at Epcot; "Honey I shrunk the Audience" and maybe Test Track. Head back to MK to see and do anything that we weren't able to see and do on Friday (the above listed attractions). End Friday night at MK, watching the fireworks.

Sunday: We have an evening flight so this will still leave us with a half day. We are planning on only getting the 2-day park hoppers so we won't have entry into any of the parks on this day. Maybe spend time at the resort swimming, maybe visit the Polynesian for a meal, maybe go back to DTD if we have time and the interest.

My question for all of you is: Not including ANY thrill rides and not including any visits to Animal Kingdom park, can you think of any other fun attractions or activities that you think we might enjoy? I love the "classics", we both enjoy the 3D shows, etc.

Thanks for any advice and recommendations! :wave2:

Happy anniversary! That sounds like a great plan. Im jealous, we are doing the same thing a couple weeks later(the 22nd), but only going Fri-Sun. Id love that extra day. :)
We plan to spend one of our nights at Pleasure Island and one at Jellyrolls on the BW. Both places can be lots of fun for adults. You could easily walk or hop a boat to Jellyrolls after Fantasmic.

On your last day when you are looking for things to do, would you be interested in getting massages at a spa? On my most recent trip, I had time to kill before having to get to the airport so I went to Boma for a late breakfast, then spent some time walking around and exploring AKL. It was really nice.

So much to do, so little time. :)

Happy Anniversary! We would celebrate with Tonga Toast too!

I guess that it's the drop that disqualifies it for you, but the sights and sounds of Splash Mountain makes it a must do for us.

Sea Spray,
How cool! Our anniversary is July 8, as well! How many years for you? We will celebrate our 30th! We have some big trips planned, too. While we won't actually be doing anything grand in July, we do have a DCL seven night cruise planned for Sept. This will be our first time so we are very excited! We will also spend a week after Thanksgiving at WDW splitting our stay between POFQ & the Poly. We honeymooned at the Poly 30 years ago.

You have a very handsome family of men but you look like you are outnumbered! Our family consisted of a split of boys and girls. Of course, DD & DS are grown and on their own now. I hope you have a wonderful anniversary and a super time!

My DH and I got home last night from our 10th anniversary trip. One thing that we did that we really enjoyed was the "Keys To The Kingdom" tour at MK. We thoroughly enjoyed this, and it helped us look at WDW in a whole new way. It really helped us to appreciate the "magic" even more.
Hope you have a great time planning, and a memorable anniversary celebration.

I think you already have a pretty good plan. You might consider strolling along the Boardwalk area at night also.

Congratulations on the anniversary!

Thanks for the ideas, everyone :) I just read that the new ride at Epcot "Soarin'" is scheduled to open in spring of 2005, so I'm really hoping it will be open when we're there in July. That's one attraction from Disneyland that I always thought looked really great!
