Suggestions about riding BTMRR

I am excited :yay:to be heading back and finally getting to ride BTMRR as it has been in refurbishment for my last two trips. I am wondering if the newness has worn off or if there are still longer wait times for this ride. If so, do you have any suggestions around riding strategies for EMH or non EMH days? I'll be there on DD weekend (Saturday to Monday) in September (also the first weekend of Halloween Time) so I think it'll be somewhat busier than normal perhaps.

The newness has worn off.

My last few visits to the park I haven't seen the wait over 40mins. Most of the time when I walk by, it has a posted wait of 20mins or less and FPs being distributed with return times 45mins out.

DH and I were there this past Friday evening, and the posted wait time was 25 minutes, with FP for about 45 minutes later. We grabbed FP's, ran over and rode POTC first, then headed back to BTMRR and jumped on with our FP's in less than 5 minutes. :cool1:

Note that BTMRR is NOT one of the rides open for EMH that I know of...and DD weekend is the start of Halloween Time, so it will be busier. But with FP's, you should be fine. :)

Definitely utilize FP, but keep in mind that the stand by line usually moves quickly (I find) on BTMRR.

I was at DLR last week and it seemed to me that BTMRR is still experiencing lines a bit longer than before the refurb. Mostly the newness has worn off though.

And as the PP said BTMRR is not open during EMH so there is no issue there.

Big Thunder moves riders through quickly when they run at least 3 trains. 2000+ per hour. Even if the line extends to the ride entrance, that's not 1,000 people, so you won't wait that long, even from that point.

Thanks everyone--very helpful! I won't worry about lining up for rope drop for it then at the end of my EMH time at DL! It looks like I'll be able to ride it without much of a wait.

I've been checking my lines apps regularly over the past week or so, getting an idea of how things will be when we're there in a few days. I've rarely seen wait times listed of over 20 minutes when I've looked, and often more like 15.

It has a wait time of 40 minutes right now per Mousewait, but of course it's likely to be totally different in September. But that leads me to note that I think Brianna gives the best advice: get a free line app (or a paid one if you want to, but I like Mousewait which is free) and check it periodically for a few weeks leading up to your vacation, particularly on days of the week corresponding to your travel days. Of course conditions change and the apps aren't always accurate, but it should give you a sense of what you're walking into.

The normal wait during no peak times is 20-30 minutes. when its busy it will go up to 45. If everything is running to capacity the line is very manageable.
