I'd like to get suggestions for a hotel for a 1-night stay in Kissimmee. I've read through so many tripadvisor reports, usually where one person loves a place and the next hates it, that I no longer have any clear picture, so I'm really hoping you all can help.
This would be just for our first night after arrival (we'll check into a Disney hotel the next day), and we don't plan to do much at the hotel but stay there overnight. The following morning, we'll be attending a church in Kissimmee (near downtown), so we'd prefer to stay somewhere on 192.
Things we want:
- Safe
- Clean
- Comfortable (though luxury is not needed)
- Free breakfast is good, but only if it at least has things like cereal - if it's just donuts and/or bagels, it doesn't help.
- We'd like a 12:00 checkout (i.e. so we could check out after church services) - I know folks aren't likely to know about this one.
- Cheaper is better, but we would pay a bit more to get the above.
Things we don't care about:
- How far down 192 it is (though we'd prefer to be on the Kissimmee side of Disney)
- Activities/pool/movies/etc. at the hotel
- Transportation to Disney World
- Stuff within walking distance (unless it's a security/noise issue)
- Things like size of the room don't matter much
I've found a really good rate ($39) at the Howard Johnson Inn Kissimmee Maingate East. Has anyone had particularly good/bad experiences there, enough to know whether it's safe/clean/comfortable?
