I am planning a yard sale for WDW funds and to get rid of unused stuff. How would you price the following: Little tykes country kitchen, good condition; little tykes dollhouse, excellent condition; little tykes pool with slide, good condition; little tykes shopping cart, excellent condition; Disney videos. Thanks for any help.

Up here I can easly price my little tykes stuff $10-15 below retail. But many times if it's big and I want it out of here I'll price it with a 8x11 sheet of paper with a sign saying it's being evicted and 20 bucks (OBRO on the sencond day) many of my big things never make it past 3 hours on the 1st day. People crack up at the sign and off it goes. Videos are $1 or 6 for $5 but most of mine aren't disney.

If they are out of print Disney video & the cases are in good condition I would NOT price them any LOWER then $5.00 each. Even that might be too low.
If they are your more popular Disney movies that are out of print, you may want to price them at $7.00 a piece.

It may seem high for a movie at a garage sale, but I really don't think you will have a hard time finding any buyers for them

If they are just your run of the mill Disney movies (sing alongs, cartoons, etc) then I would say about $2.00 a tape would be a good price.

The Little Tykes shopping cart I would put about $7.00-$8.00 on it.

I am not sure about the dollhouse, I have a son so I never brought one of those ;)

The kitchen, I would put at least $25 on it. Find out how much it is in the stores & then drop the price about $15.00 or so.
I sold my Little Tykes kitchen for $35 & it was one of the first things to go ::yes::

That Little Tikes Country Kitchen is a HOT seller on ebay. You could easily get $100 for it if you are able to ship it (Greyhound does shipping for an item that large, and you can just wrap it in bubble wrap, no box required). Otherwise I would price it for $20-25 at the garage sale (that's what I've seen them go for around here).

I am also planning a yard sale for the first weekend in May. Can someone help me price the following items?

* Like new Memory Games: 2 (Disney and Potato Head) Only played with one time, all cards there, box in good condition.

* 2 Bowling Balls w/ Bags

* I pair of old skates

* Jogging stroller: excellent condition, only used a couple of times;)

Thanks for the help!

By the way, I have a ton of brand new Disney videos that I want to sell. Do you think that I would do better on eBay with them? Or do you think people would pay $8/video at a yard sale???

We sold used Disney videos at our recent garage sale and priced them at $5 each or 5 for $20. Most were out of print and many balked at the prices, trying to get them for $2.00 or less. That was the one thing I was not flexible on -- the Disney movies -- because I can just as easily sell them on eBay and make much more. We also sold a smaller Little Tykes Kitchen (not the Country Kitchen) for $7 (priced it at $10). If you know an item is a good seller on eBay, then I'd suggest trying that route first. Most people who are at garage sales are looking for very steep bargains. Good luck.

What about books?

What is a good price for hardcover gentley read or never read mainstream books?

I've messed up on ebay too many times with shipping books and I don't want to do it again.

Thanks

Autumn

I've been trying to price Longaberger for a yard sale, and I have no idea what to ask. I looked on Ebay and tried to figure out what the same items were going for there, and it wasn't as much as I expected. I also have some bigger baby things, I'm just hoping the stuff sells. We're going to be moving in the next few months, and I do NOT want to move it.

I don't mind having a yard sale (with my aunt, not just me), but I hate trying to price stuff, I'm always afraid I'm either way too high or giving it away. I just try to come up with a price that I'd be willing to pay for the item if I wanted to buy it.

Good luck with your sales!

Games I would price at $1. Those memory games are only line $5.99 at Walmart new.

Bowling balls $5

Old Skates $5

Jogging Stroller $25

You really need to look at your demographic area and who is going to come to the sale. Around here-- a movie for $5 wouldn't go no matter how precious (we are in a middle class neighborhood-- but people want the bargains!!!). We have a yard sale every August (when the village sponsors a village wide sale). We price low-- mostly so we can unload everything. Which works because I have never had more than 10% of the items left!!

I know when I go on the garage sale circuit I see the sales where things are overpriced-- everything is still sitting there and everyone's leaving empty handed.

Ebay would be the place to catch alittle more money for something, a yard sale is better for just unloading. We sold 2 like new bowling balls last year-- marked them $5 and got $3 each. The little tyes stuff always does great though-- so you'll make out well there. As does baby furniture (cribs, strollers, car seats, ect).

Around here, hardbacks go for a max of $1.00, paperbacks for a max of 50 cents, often much cheaper for both.
