Suggest a Park plan for me October 14th-19th 2015

Hello All,

Trying to finish up planning for our Trip to October. Disney doesn't have a lot of information up as far as exactly what is going to be going on for park times shows etc. I have used a lot of the great resources on this forum to get a general idea of what things will be going on based off of 2014.

We arrive early on the 14th. I already have tickets to the Halloween Party on this date so that is locked down. I have a 3 day non-park hopper pass for the rest of the trip. I am not opposed to adding a 4th day or the park hopper option.

Also If I end up only need to "Park hop" on one day wouldn't it make more sense just to buy a 4th day and pay for the extra day then to spring for the full on park hopper option? So I assume you could go to 2 parks in one day without a park hopper option it would just use 2 days of your ticket?

This Leaves us with the 15th 16th 17th and 18th to plan which park we will be in. I would like to take one of those days as a non-park day where we will be doing other things in the area and just generally unwinding.

I would like to see Fantasmic and the world of color show. From what I can tell Fantasmic may not be running on weekdays during this time?

My original plan was to have Sunday be the day that I won't spend in either parks but am Open to changing this. Below is my tentative schedule until Disney schedules are released for these days

Oct14th- Mickeys Halloween party
Oct15th- California Adventure (world of color possibly)
Oct16th- California Adventure (world of color possibly)
oct17th- Disneyland Park (fantasmic)
Oct18th- Off day

You have only left yourself 1 full day at the DL park, and this side of the Park will take you 2 days to get it all in. When you are there for the Halloween party, you will not be able to get into the park until after 3PM, it is a fun time, but you will have limited time in the park. But if you are a ride freak, after 8PM the rides are like a ghost town, and you can basically walk on (we did all the major rides in about 1 and 1/2 hours).

The 16th in DCA will be very busy, after 3, as the party will be in the DL, and those not attending the party will be over there, Do the WOC on the 15th. You might want to use this as your day off, and then do your 2nd DCA day on the 18th.

I would recommend spending the extra $40 and get the park hopper option, and possibly adding the 4th day as well. We love to park hop between the two parks, as they are so close together.

You can't use two "days" of your ticket to go to both parks the same day. You have to have a hopper to do both parks same-day. Sorry!

Here's my two cents:

Without adding an extra day or park hoppers to your tickets...

• Wed 10/14 - Mickey's Halloween Party
• Thurs 10/15 - DCA
• Fri 10/16 - DL
• Sat 10/17 - day off. Go to the beach, or a museum & a movie.
• Sun 10/18 - DL
• Mon 10/19 - I assume that this is departure day?

If money were an issue and I could afford either the extra day OR park hoppers, then I'd get park hopper tickets and do it like this:

• Wed 10/14 - Halloween Party
• Thurs 10/15 - Magic Morning at DL. Then hop to DCA later in the day.
• Fri 10/16 - start at DL
• Sat 10/17 - day off. Because at this point, you will have been to DL 3 days in a row and you'll be tired.
  
• Sunday 10/18 - start at DL, then hop to DCA when DL starts to get crowded.

Thanks this looks like a lot of good information. I believe there is another Halloween party on Friday so I figured DCA may be busy that day. I may end up getting the park hopper and yes Monday is the departure day

What do you think about doing Friday as the offday since there is a Halloween party that day?

I was going to suggest just that.
14th arrival day/ Party night (get in right at 3 pm and go have some fun before the party starts. Then in middle of the night hit big hitters with walk on.

15th full day at dca get woc fp and rsr fp first thing.
16th Day off. Lets face it 14th will be busy day with travel and party
17 full day at DL
18 Full day hopping. get in all your favs before the end of the trip
19th the saddest day of the trip. The day you leave.

I would if I were you at least get hoppers but add a day if you can even if its only for 4-6 hours more. Also where did you get your tickets? I love getawaytoday.com they some times have the buy 4 days get 5th free.

I got them at ares travel or whatever it is called probably will upgrade to the park hopper. Money isn't a big issue but I don't want to spend money just for the sake of it. Will probably try to do a dining package for the shows
