...besides CROCS!!!!

Yes, I've tried them, and yes, they're somewhat comfortable, but I just can't get over the ugly factor. And really, I didn't think they were all that comfortable.

So...I'm looking for a lightweight shoe (no big bulky sneakers) that has good arch support and will keep my feet happy through a day at Disney.

A light, slip on sneaker would be nice...but arch support is a must. I'm no podiatrist, but I think my arches are in the mid to high range.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure about light sneakers but I bought Merrell Reactors and they were VERY nice (although I prefer my Crocs - LMAO!)

They have nice support, the two top straps are adjustable as well as the back heel strap. In addition they have a neoprene wet suit type material that holds your feet in place so there's no slipping if your feet are sweaty and they're GREAT on rides where your feet may get wet and in the rain etc :) I have very wide and flat feet and these were comfortable right out of the box.

HTH

I love Birkenstocks or Keen sandals.

I have been 37 times in the last 10 years - I used to actually have bloody stumps from gymshoes! Found Birks and never have a problem

Before her Crocs DD wore nothing but these to our Six Flags and WDW trips they are great Park shoes

Park Shoes

I love Skechers and everyone I recommend them to for walking loves them too!

I wore Teva Stratums last time we went to WDW. I think they are a fashion nightmare, but we went in August and I did not want to wear sneakers all day in that heat. They were great for the rain we encountered every day and also for water rides. Never had to worry about blisters once the whole time we were there ~ and we walked a lot!

I love my birks! I wear them to Disney with no problems. I cannot bring myself to try the crocs, they are just too darn ugly! :teeth:

as far as crocs go...there are different models besides the "beach" that may be more asthetically appealing to you ;)

Yep, Skechers mule sneakers, they are very comfortable. I have a pair that I have been wearing for 2 years this coming April. I wore them to Disney and then on the Wonder. Never had tired or painful feet :cool1: !!!!

I wore a pair of Clark's athletic-type sandals that were very comfy.

tevas kealas - not sure of the name
but they are the best - i always had blisters and these were the 1st to help me
but now you cant buy them anymore

the only thing i can get by with without getting blisters or swollen ankles (or at least not as many blisters or swollen ankes) are regular new balance sneakers. i've tried crocs and tevas. But I do walk back and forth from one end of the park to the other the whole time i'm there and don't take many breaks.

I will tell you the best sneaker I have found that has virtually no "breaking" in is the REEBOK PRINCESS. I ALWAYS buy a new pair before I leave for Disney and never ever have a problem with discomfort at all.

I will say SINCE finding the DIS Boards I started reading allot about CROCS. I went to WDW in Feb and EVERYONE had them, moms, dads, and kids! When I got home, I bought a pair of the CROCS (beach-style) and I love them. Very comfy. BUT I will still probably always wear Reebok to the Parks every time I go as I like a shoe I can TIE ON and not think about. (strange-huh)!!!!

Merrell sandals,

I walked 8 days straight in the parks w/o any discomfort. I lived in them last summer and can't wait to put them back on in the spring!

just some really good sneakers with good socks :)

I absolutely agree! Good socks are sooooo important. I only wear wicking socks when I'm anywhere where I'm walking a lot.

Another vote for Clarks! I own several pairs of sandals, and they are more comfy then my sneakers for long days at the park.

Clarks are wonderful!

I LOVE my Nike Free's....they are soooo light weight, breathable, can just be slipped on and they come with two different inserts. I wear mine without socks in the warmer weather (that's kind of the design of them!) ~ and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!
