Sugar Free Cakes?

Hi everyone! I'm going back to the World in less than a month (woohoo!) and for the first time ever, will be celebrating my birthday out there (double woohoo!). However, I've recently found that sugar makes my joint problems worse (not so woohoo). I'd really like to have a birthday cake on the day, but don't want to spend the rest of the day curled up in pain. Does anyone know if Disney can do sugar-free Birthday cakes? Would that be a matter for Brenda Bennett, or does someone else deal with cakes?

Thanks in advance everyone!

I emailed Disney general inquiries a few days ago, but haven't heard anything yet. I normally find that they respond more quickly than this (even if their responses are often pre-written spiels which don't answer my question). Should I write again or sit tight?

I would call Brenda Bennett (I think her phone # is in the FAQ) and leave a msg for her if she isn't there.

Is there a bakery at one of the hotels? I really have no idea where the cakes are baked or how you get one - did you want one delivered to your hotel room (if they do that? or pick it up) or during a meal? If to the room perhaps the bakery would know if you called them directly.

I would think Brenda would know the answer to all of this! :thumbsup2

I'm not yet sure what I'm planning to do for my birthday, I just know I'd quite like a cake if possible :goodvibes :cake:. We could have the cake with a meal if a suitable restaurant would be prepared to make a special one for me (I'm veggie too, so that adds an extra complication to finding a place to eat), otherwise we'll see about the hotel.

I'll send Brenda an email now, see what she reckons. Thank you! :goodvibes

WooHoo! It looks like I'll be able to do this! Brenda said that I just need to decide where we want to get the cake and let her know so she can phone them! :woohoo:

That is great! I figured you could get your cake (and be able to eat it too - ha!).:thumbsup2

Thank you for the help! I'll post a report when I get back, in case anyone else is looking for sugar-free cakes (if I remember; I'm afraid the brain-fog is settling in at the moment).

Thanks again!:thumbsup2
