Sudden Observation

Has anyone noticed that Mail-boomers is the same ride as Dr.Dooms Fearfall but 100000000 times better?
Mail-Boomers is a ride in Disney's California Adventure.(just for thoes who didn't know)

Well, they are both S&S space shot type rides.

Have you been on Power Tower at Cedar Point? It's 240 feet tall, which is higher than Fearfall. I think it is even higher than Mail Boomers.

So what makes the ride better?? Just the height?

I liked Power Tower at Cedar because it had two towers that would drop you and two that shot up. I prefer to drop then get shot on those types of rides.

The theme is california, so it is maliboomer (like malibu, get it).
My brother has been on both, and said Doom was much better.
I've only been on the disney ride (so far), and thought it was pretty ordinary, none of the fun themeing that I've heard about freefall.

We have a crappy amusement park here in Iowa (Adventureland) and it has a ride called the Space Shot. It is 235 ft. and shoots you up 200 feet and it is so much better than Dr. Doom. I had been on this before going on Dr. Doom so Dr. Doom really let me down.

I bet none of you has done the Big Shot in Vegas, on top of the Stratosphere....

It is 904 (give or take a few feet ) feet high.. on top of the Stratosphere tower. Then it does have its actual height as well...

I do believe that is the highest.

Same with the High Roller Roller Coaster ( one of the scariest coasters I have ever been on)

Can someone tell me what makes the ride better if it does the same thing? Does the height really make it that much better ??

I've been on both, and even though I'm a DieHard Disney Fan, Dr Doom has a great theme and story that sets the stage, and makes it an attraction. Maliboomer is just a ride! (A good ride, but Just a ride) And they have these awful face sheilds on Maliboomer, so you don't get a great view.

Ive never been on Maliboomers, but I've been on 3 S&S space shots-Dr. Doom, Power Tower, and Big Shot. Big Shot was by far the best because of its location on the stratosphere, but even though Power Tower was 240 feet, I still enjoyed Doom more. While Power Tower coasts to the top and then drops, Doom seems to yank you down and so I got more air on that. So that shows me that height doesnt matter. The pre launch on Doom is a lot better too.
