Such a Big Miracle in Such a Little Girl! and Anniversary Celebration *Updated 3/19

Hi Nina, I’m just joining in and getting all caught up.

Your daughter’s story is so amazing and incredibly touching, I started crying just reading it, I can’t imagine having lived through it. You and your family are so strong. I’m so happy for you that you’re going to Disney World! My niece was Kaylie’s age when we took her last June for her first trip and it was the best experience of my life! Everything is so much better through a five year old’s eyes!

I absolutely love your movie nights and the food that accompanies them! If you haven’t seen Frozen you’ll definitely need to check that out when it comes out on DVD! It’s my new favorite movie. I love it so so so much!

Oh and I didn’t know that you could use FP+ at Be Our Guest! How does that work?! I’d love to know! That’s my number one-must eat at QS for our trip in May!

I love the “I don’t do matching T-Shrits” for your dad! I definitely want to make that for my dad haha!

Happy belated birthday Kaylie! I love her party! Looks like it was a blast! A

All of your plans sound great! Can’t wait to read more!

The BOG FP+ is a separate from the other FP ressies. It does not "count" as one and will not take away from your ride fast passes. You still make it 60 days out and you will need your room only confirmation# (it will be numbers only) which you can get of the MDE website.
The link for the FP+ is this https://beourguestlunch.disney.go.com/

I have been reading about the in room surprises that people are doing for their kids and I LOVE this idea. Some are doing it to reward good behavior and some are adding to the "magic" of disney.

I am leaning more towards the magic. I am really big on helping to fuel my kids' imaginations. We take part on the Christmas Elf on the Shelf to help with the entire fantasy of the season. Doing these surprise gifts are really appealing to me.

My plan is to have Tinkerbell come in during the night and deliver a gift bag for each of the kids. The bags will have a few trinkets and items related the activities for that day. If I could come up with them I'd like a poem from tinkerbell for each day.

So far, what I have come up with is this...

Day 1 - travel day, I think I will have Tink deliver her first gifts the night before our vacation starts. These will be the new toys/crafts that I am collecting to keep them busy on the flight. This will be a good way of starting of the vaca by Tink welcoming them.

Day 2 is Epcot. Tink will deliver a fan for the each of the kids. Tangled for Kaylie and Planes for Brayden. I've opted out of the spray bottle idea because my dd would be obsesed with spraying herself and others, including strangers :faint: She will also be giving Brayden a new sippy cup stroller strap (i made one out of an old mickey lanyard). Kaylie is getting her Cinderella Carriage necklace that I found on ebay along with a note for her to pick a pearl. There will also a "Coupon" for them to pick up an Epcot Passport.

Day 3 - is MK. So while shopping at Epcot or our resort gift shop, I will secretly pick up a pressed penny book along with a map of all the locations. There will be another "coupon" to choose there own hat/ears at the parks.:earboy2:

Day 4 - is our "off" day. We will return to MK in the evening to watch fireworks, So tink will be delivering glow bracelets and necklaces with instructions on who to make them in to a mickey necklace.

Day 5- Animal Kingdom - I'd like to get them each a Safari hat, and Kaylie a Disney Poncho for Kali River Rapids. I am at a bit of a loss as to what I will be getting the baby for this day.

Day 6 is HS. This one is a tough one for me. I'm not sure what to do for this park. I am toying with the idea of get the kids their own 3-d glasses that actually fit them that they can wear on TSMM and Kaylie can wear on Star Tours. :3dglasses Disney still hasn't figured out that one size fits all Does Not fit toddler sized heads:(

Day 7 - Blizzard Beach - yet another one that confuses me. The kids will have already had water wings, swim suits, and towels all week, which would definitely go with the water park. I might just do a disposable underwater camera that Kaylie can take her own pictures with.

Day 8 - Sad Day--departure day. I want Tink to deliver a gift to each of the kids. Something that I have noticed them looking at or wanting in the shops during the trip, hopefully something that they can play with on the plane:thumbsup2

Any other suggestions? Thoughts? I really need some help with my HS and BB days.

Next Post: The poems that I have come up with so far (or borrowed from other sources :) )

Still catching up on plans, but I have to say your story made me cry! What a great trip for you guys! I will read the plans a but more closely. I love seeing what people traveling the same time as us do!

So as promised here are the poems from Tink each for a different day of our trip. The first I "borrowed" from pinterest, but the rest I made myself. I realize that just a simple note would have been easier, but my ds is just starting to get into books and right now the only ones that hold his attention are the poems. So please let me know what you think. I will put these in order of the days the will receive them.
Departure day:
Twas the day of vacation and all through the house,
Everyone's excited to go see the mouse,
Off to Mickey and Minnie's party we go,
To see magical parades, and amazing shows,
From down in our boat the Pirates we'll see,
And when riding dumb we'll all scream whee!
Off to the castle to see a fireworks show,
It'll be so beautfull...I can't wait to go.
It's not just a place, I'll repeat with a sigh,
It's were fish can talk and elephants fly.
Magic carpets and Pirates galore,
Singing bears and so much more.
Talk bugs and a huge Dinosaur
Sights and smells in the air when we Soar.
Goofy's our hero and Mickey's our friend
Minnie and Daisy the list never ends.
All hopes and dreams will come true you see
as we spend a week in magical Disney
We're all so excited, its our last day in this town
for today we are all Disney bound!

Epcot
I’m so excited you made it, you’re here at Disney World.
I hope you are prepared, to be dazzled and twirled
I have big plans for you at Epcot today,
So pick up a passport and get stamps along the way
You’ll visit some countries like Italy, France and Japan
And ride some rides like “Living in the Land.”
You’ll soar over California and ride a race car around a track,
Then fly a mission to space, but make sure you come back
Because the days not over yet, you’ll visit Nemo and Friends
Then a campfire with Chipmunks when the day comes to an end.
Have Fun!
Love Tinkerbell.

Magic Kindom
Today’s park is special, Today’s park is fun
You’ll meet lots of friends before day is done.
So lets hurry and get to the Magic Kingdom quickly
Were you can visit my friends Minnie and Mickey,
But first there’s a treat with a magical fare,
In the castle for breakfast, Cinderella will be there.
In this magical land there is so much to do,
Pirates, Dumbo, and Winnie the Pooh.
You’ll Splash down a mountain, ride a train through a mine,
Read a book with Bell and in Beasts castle you’ll dine,
Pixie Hollow’s my home, that’s where you will find me
And you’ll find a Little Mermaid Under the Sea.
Don’t forget the ghosts and the Bear Jamboree
You’ll be back tomorrow, there is still lots more to see.
Love Tinkerbell

Day Off/Tomorrowland
Take a rest, relax, go outside and play,
No park, no plans for most of the day,
Take a splash in the pool, or crawl through a cave
Take some pictures with Simba but make sure you wave.
Explore your resort there’s lot to see and do,
Join the party at the pool, it a big hullabaloo.
Or hop on a bus, take a ride to a farm
Ride Cinderella’s pony, he lives in the barn.
Rest up for tonight because I have a treat
Mickey’s making you dinner, and it can’t be beat.
Chef Mickey and Friends will be lot of fun
Then head over to my house, and come on the run.,
Drive a car, fly a rocket and see Stitch get away,
With Buzz fight the Aliens at the end of the day.
But just when you think it’s time to return
Music will start and the fireworks will burn.
Now it’s over the days come to an end
I’m looking forward to tomorrow my friend.

Animal Kingdom
Come see us today where the animals roam,
At the place Simba, Timon and Pumba call home.
It Animal Kingdom, it’s a park, it’s a zoo
There’s lots of fun to be had, lots to see lots to do.
Take a wild African safari ride,
And there a big tree that you can walk around inside.
Ride the white water rapids, you are sure to get wet,
See Dinosaurs, and you can find some fossils I bet.
You’ll see giraffs, rhinos and chimpanzees,
And watch Nemo’s show under the see.
Ride a train to a place where kids can have fun
See more animals before you must go on the run.
To another hotel while you eat your dinner
watching animals play is sure to be a winner.

Hollywood Studios/Adventureland
On the fifth day of your fun vacation with me,
Come to Hollywood Studios there’s lots to see.
Ride Toy Storia Mania with Woody and Friends,
Take a ride on a space ship the fun never ends,
See how movies are made take a bus on a tour,
Hold tight as an elevator drops to the floor.
Then a magical event and wonderful show,
Its Beast and Bell with music you know.
After lunch you’ll head out, but the day is not done
Let’s go back to the Kingdom for some Adventureland Fun!
Take a magical carpet ride in the sky,
Then climb to a tree house near where the birds fly,
The birds will sing songs, Lagu and Zazu will be there,
Then Tom Sawyer’s island where there’s fun everywhere.
You’ll sit down for dinner for a family feast,
Eat turkey, and stuffing, you’ll eat like a beast.
Then grab a seat on the ground, near the front of the pack
Watch the lighted parade come down the track.
This ends your night, hope you had fun,
See you tomorrow, now I gotta run.
Love Tinkerbell

Blizzard Beach
Oh look over there, today let’s get wet,
Put on your swim suits, grab your towels and lets jet.
If you look you will see a shine and a glow,
What is it, why its melting white snow.
Blizzard Beach is our destination today,
A fun Disney Water Park is where we will play.
Race down a mountain against Mom and Dad,
Swim in the river or walk across the pads.
Hold tight to the raft the whole family can ride,
Ride a chair lift to the tip top high in the sky.
Go play and have fun, and when you are done,
We’ll head over to the Poly for some Luau Fun.
Ohana means family and that’s what vacations are for.
Spending time with your loved ones and those you adore.
Love Tinkerbell

Good Bye
All week long we got to play,
I had a blast with you each and every day,
You get to ride on airplane again today,
You take the bus and be on your way
I’ll miss you as you head back where you came,
As I am sure that you guys will miss us the same.
I brought you this gift to remember me by,
As you are all flying home high in the sky.
See Ya Next trip!
Love Tinkerbell.

Thanks for the BOG info! I love your poems idea! When I went in June with my niece I left her a note everyday from a different character with an outfit and bow laid out. It added some extra magic and it helped with getting dressed in the morning! All of your poems are very cute! Such a great idea!

Day 6

Lets continue on. According to easywdw.com this is the day for Hollywood Studios. When I was looking at what there is to do at HS it appears that there is not a lot for the little ones, so we will not be devoting much time to this park. We are spending a half day here, and the rest of our day back at Magic Kingdom.

I had considered skipping this park altogether, but Kaylie really wants to see Beauty and the Beast (and so do my Mom and I ;) )

Our plan is to head straight for Toy Story Mania, then we will do Star Tours. Although this is available at DL, my dd hasn't been tall enough for it. My dh is really excited that she can do this now. Then we will ride The Great Movie Ride, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and the Studio Tour. We will do Disney Junior Live if it plays into our time frame. Its a take it or leave for us since this is at DCA.
It should now be time for Beauty and the Beast:cool1: After the show we will head of to ToT. My dd wants to do EVERYTHING, so we will see:faint: I can take this or leave it. If she's brave enough to do it I will go just to see her face. Either way we will eat lunch and end HS here.
Brayden will nap on the way over to MK. We will either take a bus to the TTC and then boat to MK or Bus to Grand Floridian and then take the Monorail over. Personally I want to see the Grand Floridian so I think that's where we will head.

Will will spend the rest of the day visiting the one land we haven't touched yet...Adventureland!
Swiss Family Robinson (DL changed it to Tarzan, so this is more for nostalgia). Then we will on magic carpets. I think Brayden will really enjoy seeing the Birds sing in the Tiki Room. DL's tiki birds do not have Lagu or Zazu so I am really intrigue with out they work them in here. Jungle Cruise, Pirates and then the kids can play on Tom Sawyers Island until our ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern. (Tom Sawyer's Island is another thing that was changed at DL...it is called Pirates Lair there)
At this point, we should have seen and done everything that we wanted to. So we will re-ride rides the kids really liked. Maybe get a FP for a big ride. We will stay and play until our FP+ for Electrical Parade.

Nina, I fell behind due to work and no internet for a few days.

I love the clothes.

The princess party is just too adorable...what fun.

I love all of the Tink poems.

And you are in double digits. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Day 7
This day had me stumped because its a Saturday. Growing up in California we learned that you avoid theme parks at all cost on Saturdays if you want to keep your sanity and avoid the :crowded:s. This is our last full day, so we of course we need to do something. So we will spend our day at a water park. Blizzard Beach.

Many hours spent on the internet pouring over the height requirements for slides and people's recommendations on the parks. Ultimately two things swayed us toward Blizzard Beach over Typhoon Lagoon. First with a baby, we want to be able to get out of the sun :beach: and apparently shade is limited at TL unless I fork out more $$ for a cabana. Second is the wave pool. My dd loves the wave pool at our waterparks and I feel her and Brayden will be safer in this wave pool rather than the one at TL. It was a difficult decision because when my Dh and I came in 2008 we went to BB and I would love to experience the other park this time, but the kids' needs come first.
So in the morning we will head off to Blizzard Beach for some fun in the sun. I doubt that we will spend the whole day here, so I will let Kaylie decide where we go in the afternoon. We will have 3 fp+ available to use a park, so we will keep that in mind when deciding where to go and what to do.

We have ADR at Ohana. I'd love to end our trip with an evening show, maybe Fantasmic or Illuminations. It just seems like it will top off our trip with a night time spectacular.

Day 7 - Revised
So I talked it over with my co-captain ( mom) and I have made a definite decision about our last evening. We will get a FP+ for Fantasmic and end our trip on that note. We realize we all want to see that show and my dd will love it. It will be the perfect ending. After our adr at Ohana we will make our way to Hollywood Studios and get a fast pass for TSMM or ToT. Take in the sights and then watch the show.

Another May traveler, here! I didn't make it through your whole PTR, but had to check out the outfits post! I absolutely LOVE the Ohana dress! Perfect fabric choices. I'm making outfits, too, but so far only have some fabric and patterns purchased.

Thank you - I consider myself a beginner when it comes to sewing. I am self taught so I have to do easy patterns. I found the Pillowcase Dress pattern by Simplicity and that's what I used for all 3 dresses and the coverup. My mom and I made a trip to Los Angeles' garment district and got all patterns for less than 6 dollars. I was really happy with the way they came out. The Ohana dress is my absolute favorite.

Your plans look great! I know what you mean about HS and little ones. WE skipped it last year for that very reason. I am excited to go there this year, but we are only doing a half day too!

The ending to your last day looks perfect!

Day 8
I have been avoiding this day, because it will be like loosing a good friend. Our flight leaves at 5pm and If everything I read about the Magical Express is true, then we will leave for the airport at 2pm and have to sit around and entertain for 2 hrs :sad2:
We do not plan on returning to the parks today, it would be too tough to go and then have to leave early knowing that we are leaving for good. We are going to request for a late check out. We will check our bags. Then I have 3 options for us. 1. Downtown Disney 2. Typhoon Lagoon for a couple hours or 3. Hang out at the resort pool until it is time to go. :sad1:

I hate the last day too :(. It's the worst! All of your plans sound wonderful!!

Hi!! Ok so I am finally all caught up! Your plans all sound so good! I love those dresses that you made and the "tourist" shirts! :rotfl: I love love LOVE the idea of tinkerbell gifts! Your poems are so creative too! I hate talking about going home too :( Fantasmic is a great way to end the trip on though! Can't wait to read more!! :thumbsup2

I am making a small album for my ds Brayden. This will be his first time to any Disney theme park so I am trying to "clue" him in to what will be happening. We are already watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse once a day so he can learn the characters. He loves Mickey right know.
The album I am making has pictures of our previous Disney trips so we can point to the pictures and talk about what's going on.

I've been going through the pictures and getting really nostalgic, so I decided to post my pictures here. So the next few posts will be all pictures. Fill free to browse, comment or ignore as you see fit. I was just having some fun reminiscing of disney past.
