I had a GV booked at OKW for 12/18-12/23 and a 2 bedroom at AKV booked from 12/15-12/18. I did those at the 11 month window to insure we would have the accommodations covered, but we really wanted to stay at AKV the entire trip. I was afraid I was going to have to call day by day to cancel the GV and add to the AKV ressie, because I needed those OKW points to do the booking.

At 7:00 this morning, I got online, and low and behold, the whole thing was available at AKV, so I cancelled the GV online and rebooked at AKV for 12/15-12/24. I got an extra day out of it and was able to bank the extra points too!:yay:

I'm sure I made someone else pretty happy to get that OKW GV for those holiday dates too!

That's great, Diane! Congratulations - I'm happy it worked out for you!

Carol, I'm just glad I didn't have to do that day by day calling thing!:rotfl:

That's great! I really pays off to check the website. I lucked out on a one bedroom value at AKL that way one year :-)

Congrats!!!! Nice trip!!! Now to wait to make ADRs next month.

I booked a 1BR in HH section at OKW at 11 months out (for MIL and FIL) and a 2BR-standard view at AKV for us and a studio- standard view for SIL at 9 months out (when my AKV add on contract was available). I need to call Monday to switch MIL's OKW 1BR over to AKV...we are going 12/20-25. It was still available the last time I checked...I better check now.

That's wonderful, enjoy your AKV stay!:)

I am happy for you, and also because I told DSis I would try to book a multi-villa reservation for her for next December. I hope I will be as successful as you are!

Congrats Diane, next to an OKW GV, the only other GV I dream of staying at is an AKV GV!

Congratulations Diane. It's nice to know that you can still book something like at GV at the 7 month so close to the holidays.

We love the OKW GVs, and we wanted to try the AKV GV this trip, but we blew our wad of points on Aulani, so the AKV GV will have to wait for another time.

I asked the offspring if they would rather have the GV or Kidani, and the vote was for a 2 bedroom at Kidani mostly because DS has never stayed there, and DD loved it when she did. They decided one could give up a room to sleep in the living room just to have the animals.

Diane, Did you have to cancel the AK reservation as well and the rebook all the dates or were you able to just add the dates to the reservation.

No, I kept the original 3 night AKV ressie and canceled the 5 night OKW GV. THEN I added a new 6 night AKV ressie. It was a separate reservation, and that is why I had to call MS to have the two linked so they would be a seamless stay. I wouldn't want to give up what I already had.
