Success with specific room requests?

We would like to know your success or not with specific room requests. We have 2 trips planned.....GCV 1 bedroom in June and PVB in late July. Lake view. We have done a room request for GCV but not the lake view beyond upper floor. Please tell us your success as I know a lot of folks do this...... Pixie dust to all!!

Requesting a specific room is a terrible idea. If that room isn't available, they have nothing to go on; no idea why you wanted that specific room. That often means you'll end up with something completely different.

At PVB in a lake-view, "upper floor" should be sufficient.

We've had about a 50% success rate with success. For example, we've gotten theme park view at VGC, and top floor at PVB, but didn't get upper floor at BWV or particular area requested at OKW. I think it's always worth asking, and as mentioned, requesting something more general as opposed to a specific room, but there are obviously no guarantees.

50% here also. It all depends on your request and what's available to match the request. The odds of a specific room being available is almost impossible, a broader request has better odds of being granted.

There are people that have posted that they have requested XX29 or XX31 at BWVs and have got them. I have never requested them but have had them twice. I only know their numbers because a DISer asked me if I was in them from my TR photographs. They are dedicated BW view studios in a great view location. So it does happen.

Third floor/Upper floor is the only request needed for lake view Polynesian.

I usually only have upper floor and get them most stays.

But at BLT I listed very specific one trip and got it. Most requests I get. I would guess 85% - 90% of the time. I guess I'm lucky.

Sometimes room assigners can read opposite to what you put, or they have a sense of humour. Once for a renter I put no second floor as my only request to not get a solid balcony at BWV BW view (I hate them, she did too). She got second floor! On a check-in day with loads of choice.

When I stay at VGC, I request the 5 room numbers that face the park. I'm 2 for 2.
