Success with 20% off Target discount

It worked for us this afternoon. It was very easy. No yelling, no arguing, no complaining at all. The manager knew exactly what to do and said he pays for his trips with things like this too, stacked with his employee discount. The cashier asked if she could it and he was like, "Of course!" They were very happy for us and how much we saved, which was close to $800 with our red card. I know other people are upset that they did not get it and I would be too. It does seem unfair that some people can get it and others cannot...but two things: it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone who has gotten it is causing people to lose their jobs or the % off we already receive with red cards and pharmacy cards. The world is not ending.

Second thing: Life isn't fair all of the time. We all know that.

pixiedust: on getting it, and I also do not believe anyone loses there job over this. Perhaps umm no, but I believe Target TL are empowered. Meaning they make a bad decision with good reason, they get a break.. they make 10 bad decisions.. different story.

Also to those asking location, per another diser, the TL whom helped me, is no longer giving it out, and stated she was not suppose to.. so I guess glad I didn't post store/info, but PM location is not helpful any more, as chances are no go. :(

I had great success in Michigan! I went in at 8am, grabbed $1750 in disney cards with a few rolls of gifterap wrap. Went to the cashier, she was excited I was buying Disney cards. I told her I wanted to use the 20% coupon, rx reward, and red card. She said she hoped it worked. It didnt. She called over the district/regional manager who happened to be there (she called him the big wig)! I told him what I wanted to do seeing as they are entertainment cards. He said great, let me think of the best way to do it! After all discounts, I saved $504! No hassle, all was great and friendly! He told me to have a great trip :)

This is great to hear and I'm sincerely glad you got the discount. And yet we're to believe that Target will now fire the bigwig, cut hours to the poor employees, and invalidate the gift cards, as another poster posted. This is totally on Target if even a District Manager approved this transaction. I think Target has bigger issues than this gift card exclusion, they seriously need to work on their training. :)

Can you pm me any details? We live in Dow also. We went to our target store and they called gift card services and said no. I would like to try again if you don't mind sharing. I do not want to get anyone in trouble. Thanks

No luck at either store in Canton, mi. Both have the reason that they are gift cards (not entertainment cards). I'll try one more store tonight.

Just wanted to say that I just returned from my Target shopping trip and saved almost $1000 on 80 Disney cards ($4000). I had no problem, asked before I got in the check out line so I wouldn't hold up a line, was told yes, not a problem, that they had several people yesterday who got the discounted 20% with the coupon. They called over a manager. She took me to customer service desk, told me she had done the same thing the day before for her own upcoming trip, that she had called regional headquarters and was told yes, the Disney cards were perfectly ok to discount. She verified it again later in the day when another customer came in to buy several thousand dollars worth and again was told it was not a problem! So for my purchase today, she did not need to verify again, she just knew exactly what to do. It took awhile to ring up 80 cards (because my Red debit card wouldn't go through, too much money compared to my usual Target spending habits according to phone call I made while there) so the manager then told me to go ahead and use my Disney credit card after she took off the 5% I would have gotten with my Red card. So end result, $4000 became $3040. And I'll earn $30 in Disney dollars too. :cool1:

I also had success. I didn't need many, we have a bunch of cards already, but this helped round out paying for our dining OOP for our 12/31-1/7 trip for our 10th anniversary.

I picked up the cards, went to guest services, asked about the entertainment card classification for Disney cards, a manager confirmed that to be correct. I asked, so can we try to do the purchase of these cards with the 20% off coupon? She tried, it didn't come up, but she acknowledged the classification and offered to override it. I was very appreciative.

I'm in PA, suburbs of Philly. If you want store info, please PM me as well.

I sent you a PM. Thank you!!

Anyone in NJ have success?

I was told no, in both Ocean and Howell stores.

Gave up, used it on a Wii U system, and saved $60 on that, with some other items saved a total of $75.

I will try and forget about now. popcorn::

Worked for me this afternoon in Wisconsin. Bought $2000 worth for $1520 after the extra 5% with the Red card. Bonus!!!

So, they're still doing it today. Great news for anyone who is successful!
