Substitutions in recipes

While searching for a list of emergency substitutions to put in with the recipe cards I'm making for soon-to-be DIL, I came across this site with things you can put in recipes that call for alcohol. I know the question came up recently with the beer for the Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier.

That is so cool - thank you. I have never liked putting alcohol into my meals. I've always just used water and then tried to season it to make up for any lost flavor!
