substitutions after preordering at BOG?

I'm looking at the pre-order site for my BOG lunch, and it's a little disappointing. I do not have a wheat allergy, but eating gluten upsets my stomach. So I try to avoid it. It seems like, in order to get the Milet bread instead of regular bread, I have to click "wheat allergy". I don't want to do that because I know it makes more work for the chefs.

Is there still a huge difference in the "preordered" and "not preordered" lines? Last October it was a 15 minute line versus a 60 minute line! Or can I preorder everything and then ask a CM to edit the order when we arrive?

Thank you!

Eta- I specifically want the Croque Monseuir ham sandwich. It does not come up on the "wheat allergy" menu, probably due to a cross contamination issue. I'm not worried about the contamination because I'm not allergic. Otherwise I'd order the whole wheat-free meal (I'm not getting dessert). However, if I eat a whole sandwich with regular bread I will spend the night in pain and the next day in the bathroom. That's not how I envision my Disney trip.

Yes, there is a significant difference between the two lines. If you want the millet bread, then pre order it. It makes no difference in the cook's workload if you order it in advance or when you check in, (he's still doing it regardless) but it will make a big difference in how long you wait.

Actually, listing an allergy DOES increase the prep work because of the strict procedures in place when dealing with allergies.

If you tell them you have an allergy, you will be given the allergy items. If what you really want is the allergy items due to an intolerance, and all you have to do is click a box, then click it. but if you just want the millet bread and none of the other allergy items, you won't get that by clicking the allergy box. They are going to consider that you have an allergy and they won't give you the regular food. So if you do it, be aware that they will consider you as having a wheat allergy.

If you want just the bread and everything else regular, then don't preorder. but if you want all wheat free items anyway, then you will be putting them through the same procedure whether you preorder or not.

I think the point Minnie mum is trying to make is that they will have to make your sandwich with millet bread whether you preorder or not.

Even when we pre-ordered, the CM at the check-in station still asked if we wanted to make any changes or additions to our order. My daughter decided she didn't want the sauce on her sandwich but still wanted it served on the side, so the CM made that change at check-in. If it was me, I'd pre-order the items "as is" and then just make the request for the bread when you check in.

The ham sandwich isn't coming up as an option under a wheat allergy.

If you don't want the full wheat free meal, you have two choices:

1) Don't check the allergy box, preorder and tell them when you get there that you want your bread changed (and just the bread). However, I don't know how that will work. It may result in you waiting awhile longer. The previous poster says you can make some requests even if you have preordered.

Is that sandwich even available with the substitute bread? there must be a reason why it doesn't come up for the allergy meal.

2) Don't check the allergy box, and don't preorder.

I ate here in Early November and I swear my ham sand was served on multigrain bread which pissed me off as that isn't what I ordered and mad sandwich taste off.

I don't think we waited any longer for our food when my daughter changed her order at check-in than we would have if she didn't. I don't have my notes handy right now, but I seem to remember our wait was less than 10 minutes. I know we got a table, took a quick walk to the other 2 rooms just to see them, grabbed our drinks, and when we returned to the table they were bringing out our meals. I've seen other people say that they change complete entrees so I don't think changing the bread at check-in will be a big deal. And I'd rather wait a few minutes longer for my food than have to wait in the crazy long line if I don't pre-order. But that's just me.
