Submitting a time after registration ??

Hey guys!

OK, so I ran my 10K on Sunday with a decent time - 1:17:19. That was with really 2 weeks to prep for the 10K, so I feel sure I'll improve on that with 14 weeks to train for the Half.

I didn't have a time to submit before, so I entered something like 3 hours and no proof. I did email the address on rundisney for providing a time after registration, but haven't heard anything back. Also, the results are now online (they weren't yesterday morning).

Should I call active about changing my estimated finish time and then re-email the address on rundisney with my 10K time and link to the results?

Thanks in advance! Sorry for the newbie question!

In the past I sent an email to either Disney Endurance or to the Orlando Track Shack with my new estimate and a PDF of my results to back it up. Worst case scenario you can bring the printout with you to the expo and they can reassign you a higher coral there.

Here's what happened to me... YMMV. I registered for the 2010 half. Put 3:00 or 3:15 as expected finish. Per Charles, should have put 2:45 - not making that mistake again. I ran a 10k in November, either 1:14 or 1:17. Either way I was excited because based on my reading it could have bumped me forward.

At the expo, clutching my race results, I approached runner relations. No, no change. I said really. I thought... she said well, let me look, hmm, no that time would put you in Corral F (I was in G), but I don't have stickers for that. Devastated I tossed my race results (and runner registration thing) into the trash and went outside to find DGF.

Approaching the next building I realized the race shirts were inside and the paper needed was in the trash next door. Returned to the trash can and retrieved the now wet sheet.

End result was I started in G. It was fine. Wiggle your way to the front. You can get in front of the walkers quickly. There's some zigzagging, but things thin out pretty soon. Corral was no big deal.

If you have not already just send your new expected finish time along with the results link. Most likely you will not hear back. Print a copy and bring with you to the expo just in case.

Thanks guys! I'll definitely print out the time (well, assuming I don't do another 10K with a better time before then) and bring it with me!

Sorry to bump up a (semi) old thread, but I have a similar question and didn't want to start a new thread unnecessarily.

I just ran a 10k in 1:08 this morning using the same Galloway intervals I'll be doing in the half. Is it worth submitting this time or will it not make a big difference in the long run (pardon the pun)? I'm doing the January half and I put 2:45 as my anticipated finish when I registered.

I think at this point you'd need to bring a print out of the results anyway. If they feel it will make a difference, they can change your corral when you get your stuff.

A related question, how do we know what the cut-offs for each corral are? I have no idea if it will even be worth bringing a faster QT. I am running a half Sunday with hopes for a PR but I am talking a max of five minutes faster than my last time.
My old PR is 1:57.__ and I am hoping for 1:55-1:52 on Sunday.

I emailed my time yesterday from the 10K and just received confirmation that they have received it. So, you may be able to email them in for a little longer.

Is it only 10k results that you can submit for corral changes? I'm running an 8k before so I'm wondering if that can count.

The website says 10K or higher so that sounds right.

Is it worth it to try and find a 10K race around to have a qualifying time to submit? I haven't run in a marathon before and I wasn't sure if I should be looking for something to run just so I have a time to submit.
