Anyone done the submarine tours at the Grand Cayman? Was it worth it? What price did you get? Any ways to get a discount on them, because the one I looked at with Atlantis was like $100 a person. I didn't see that high of a price coming. This is something my husband really wants to do, so I thought I would ask. Thanks.

Since I think you’re flying in, and might have questions beyond what a day-stop cruiser might need, I suggest you check out the Ports of Call

Well I've pretty much found out that Atlantis is the only tour group there that does the submarine. So Atlantis it is. But thank you for your reply.

hi:

I liked but didn't love this one. And I love almost everything about being on or in the water. It was a nice tour. It felt freaky to be underwater. Some of the views were amazing. It was a cool when you got really deep underwater, though I can see how some would feel uncomfortable as the light changes and the sub creaks a little from pressure. And, I kind of felt like it was seconds away from someone on the sub either freaking out from claustrophobia or getting motion sick.

All in all it was neat. Was it "worth" it? I don't know. It was relatively short, but rather unique. I don't really remember the price, FYI.

Hope that helps.

Its high. Like $105 a person. Will pay more for this than I will for us to swim with a dolphin. But it is the one thing my husband really wants to do and he knows the price, and he said it was fine.

We're doing the Atlantis one in Aruba, it's very highly rated and will be a neat experience. Unlike what some of the reviewers say, this is not the glass bottom boat ride, this is a real sub that goes down almost 150 feet. Enjoy!

I did Nautilus in Grand Cayman a few years ago - it was nice. My 2 year old really enjoyed it but so did I. It was clear, lots of fish, wrecks, divers etc. Its really a deep hulled boat you look through glass, not a sub that dives. So you are underwater but the boat isn't submerged.
