We always take Marmite - not to put on toast, we just eat a very small amount straight from the jar every morning  . It is supposed to keep the bugs away and as we haven't been bitten yet it might work - or it could be the 50% DEET bug spray that we also use :rotfl2:

Great question.

Bisto gravy - they don't do it very well at all and Joshua loves it....
Worcester Sauce crisps - enough to last till we get to Publix, again Josh's needs....
Black Bin bags and swing bin liners....

A box of cheerios - which is bringing coals to newcastle. But it's for the plane and until we can get to the store.

I'm sure there are other things, but that's the only one that comes to mind.

as for marmite

Mmmm marmite and Typhoo teabags :) Also usually a tub of BBQ Pringles as hard to find in some states. Oh and some little sandwich bags for when we are travelling between locations so we can stop where ever we fancy for a picnic, so that also means a small cool bag and ice packs :teeth:

Claire ;)

My neckcare pillow - travel everywhere with it.

A bright Orange Pair of tights so i can tie on the car so i can find it in the carparks.

Marv :)

Oh we will take some marmite as my DD LOVES marmite, she can't get enough of it! In fact she has 3 Jars in different sizes!!! She has them lined up together and finds it so funny! shes loony!

Everyone else we know hates it including me, we say to her only special people like marmite. I have not heard about it keeping bugs away. They is no way that I'll touch the stuff even if it does so i guess we could find out if it works be comparing bites with DD!

One time we got stopped at Heathrow for a random bag search. They asked to see "Colosus" - the biggest suitcase of all time. We haul it up onto a table. They search through it. After a moment the woman searching looks up and asks:

"Is there anything in here other than towels?"

My mother replies, "yes, a pillow."

This year I'm travelling light. Like, backpack light. No frills. Barely even clothes.

I take mint Tictacs as I reckon the ones in the US taste different (plus they're harder to bite - nearly broke a tooth the first time! should'nt have the habit of crunching hard sweets but I just can't help myself!!!!) :teeth:

I guess marmite and keeping mossies away could be true as marmite contains alot of Vitamin B which is said to be good for warding off mossies.

Claire ;)

arr, but deb, what are you bringing with you? :rotfl:

Bassetts Jellybabies and butter mintoes for the journey. :)
