I know its been asked and answered but can anyone tell me the "formula" for figuring out the 330th day for airfare?
I need airfare for November 2005.

(ok.....stop laughing)

Math is not my strong suit!

I know it's something simple but i keep drawing a blank. I feel sooooo stupid. :confused3

Well, math is my strong suit, but I simply to my check register (which has three years' calendars on the back), divided 331 days by 7 (days in a week) and figured out how many weeks, and physically counted the weeks, then the extra days. I recall someone having a link which would count forward or backward any number of days and give you a target date for whatever you were planning to do.

Are you looking for Thanksgiving time? If you give me your dates I will figure the dates you need to call. We did this for Frequent Flyer tix over April break. We called at midnight for both the outbound and return flights, and still only managed one 25,000 mile tickets (even tho I had over 100,000 miles available). Good luck!

Thanks Dan (my hero) & Pumpkinboy!
looks like I have to start searching the first week of December!

Pumpkin: i am goin the 2nd week of Nov so hopefully I'll be able to snag some good flights/prices if I start early!!

I absolutely refuse to pay over $150/person. Actually cancelled a bahamas trip for last easter cause air was soooo HIGH :( (+$600/person) We are a family of 5 so it adds up!! plus i'll be looking for others who are cruising with us. Gotta get the best deal!!!

Where do you plan to fly out of/ and is that "Jersey Week"? With SWA flying out of Philadelphia and JetBlue and Song in NYC you might be OK waiting. And heck, there's Spirit Air flying from all sorts of places, including Atlantic City. With the low fare carriers tho, you will need to be attentive and hop on the good fares as soon as they come out, especially for a time when lots of other NJ families are flying out. So maybe 331 days on the old style airlines is not a bad idea. Are you thinking Continental out of Newark maybe?

Pumpkinboy ~

I can only hope for Newark! Usually I find the best fares out of laguardia (NY) and have also found that most are direct flights. My experience with Newark is I usually have to stop in NC.

Yes, It is the dreaded jersey week. I booked a cruise out of miami so I'll be looking for flights there or Fort Lauderdale.

My only concern is that I will book too early (with a decent fare) and then find deals like those out right now for the fall travel. ($39, $49 even $59 each way WOW!!) I have to find low fare for
almost 9 families. Definetely got my work cut out for me!

Wish me luck!

Well, OK, since it is Jersey week out of a NJ airport (EWR) you will defininately need to book at the 331 day mark. Call your preferred airline a couple of days before your first target date to get an exact target. And then call your preferred airline exactly at midnight at both 331 days to the outbound and return (book them one at a time, completing the return and getting the final fare at the end). This is also the best strategy for getting frequent flyer tix for busy times.

Good Luck!
