My friend and I will be going to Disneyland on a Friday. We are just doing the original park. We've both been there before when we were teenagers but never on our own. Do we need to buy tickets in advance? Can you walk up and buy them the day of? Any tips?! TIA!!

If you're just doing a one-day, one-park ticket, then you will have to buy it at the park that day (not available online). All other tickets are available online.

You can also get them by calling (714) 781-4400. I don't know how much advance notice you need to receive the tickets, but this is an alternative to buying them at the gate that morning.

I believe all the tickets are available for purchase at the ticket booths at the park if you want to buy them the day you're there. But even one-day, one-park tickets can be bought online if you have a printer handy. You print out papers with barcodes that you can take right to the turnstiles to exchange for regular tickets -- no waiting beyond waiting to get through the turnstile!

One day/one park tickets are not available for purchase online, at least not through Disneyland.com. You can call their ticket line to have them shipped, otherwise the only way to get them is at the park. You are right, however, about all other types being available online, then just printing out the tickets.

I bought one-day, one-park printout tickets online last week. It worked like a charm -- no problems or holdups at all exchanging them at the turnstile on Friday.

It takes a little clicking around at disneyland.com to find a place where you can put one-day, one-park tickets in your cart, but it is possible. From this link:

http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/reserve/ticketListing?name=TicketListingPage

Click on any of the park hoppers on the tickets page, then select "All Tickets" from the dropdown menu (click "Continue" if it asks you to resend), then click on "Theme Park Tickets." You should reach a page where you can scroll down to a "1-day, 1-park" option that you can add to your cart and generate printouts.

Woah! I'm sorry, I stand corrected! Sneaky! I wonder why they don't say that on the main page? OP if you see this, I would totally buy it online and print it out first to save you from having to wait in line that morning, b/c as mentioned, you can just take your print-out right up to the turnstiles, no need for a ticket booth.

Yeah, I don't know why they don't just have that link on the original tickets page if they're going to let you do it anyway. If one of the people at my local Disney Store hadn't mentioned it was possible, I might never have known.
