Ok, we have 3 Full Contracts Direct @ AK Kidani with a use year month of June. We rarely stay there and mostly stay @ BLT in a 2 bedroom. But as little ones have grown to be big ones with friends tagging along it's starting to get crowded. Thinking 3 bdr in future

My question is should I be more concerned with buying BLT points or Buying somewhere like Vero Beach where points are 3rd of cost and have the same Use Year Month?

Also Im not concerned with Deed Expiration
Thank you!

The dues at Vero are really high. That’s why the contracts are so low. Is a bad value outside use at Vero.

I would buy at BLT if you want to ensure you can get a GV. Many times of the year they are gone by 7 months.

They were not available for our January trip and we were only looking for 2 nights.

Ok but If I do the math and look at upfront costs for VBwins bc is 30% of the costs for BLT butif you take into account say the next 20 years and the dues stay at the same rate increase it's almost the same amount for each 100pt contract so im confused when you say there is no value

The larger dues eats into the savings so after a short time, you may end up spending more. And, in 2042, everything is gone for VB so it’s worth $0

Buy BLT, and in 2043, it going to be worth more than that for sure. So. You can sell and recoup some of your initial outlay and with the less expensive dues over ownership, you’ll spend less doe BLT in the long run.

The bigger piece is you have something that can’t be used at WDW until 7 months. At least with AKV, you can secure your room if you had to before the window opens for moving to BLT.

It doesn't make sense to buy anywhere else if your goal is to book grand villas at BLT. Let's say you're okay with staying in a GV elsewhere, but there aren't a lot of those across all properties and at 7 months, it's a huge gamble. It's worth it to buy where you want to stay, secure that GV before the 7 month mark.

BLT resale cost per point/year plus dues is about $12 per point. Vero Beach is about $16 per point. Assuming you purchased BLT, you can also sell in 20 years and recoup some of the upfront costs.

Upfront Vero appears cheaper because the upfront is 1/5 of the cost of an annualized point versus BLT upfront cost is 1/3 of an annualized point.

Also, even assuming the same rate of increase in dues for both resorts, Vero increases will be larger because the basis of dues are nearly 2x that of BLT. Essentially, even sharing a rate increase the gap widens each year because of the larger Vero multiple.

BLT 2BR standard for an average week is 313pts.

With the BLT contract you will pay $2325 in dues.

With a Vero contract you will pay $4022 in dues. But… you will likely not get standard view at 7 months, and Lake View is going to cost $4510.

Say you get VB 200pt contract for $50pp. With 18 yrs left that’s about $2.77 per point per year.

BLT at $140 for 200 points with 36 yrs left will be $4.54 per point per year.

VB $2.77 + $12.85 dues = $15.62

BLT $4.54 + $7.43 dues = $11.97

Sure BLT costs more upfront but saves more in the long run.

The ability (hopefully) to sell at 2042 for a decent price really makes a difference in the calculation of the 2042 resorts versus those dated further out.

Please don't buy VB as sleep around points. Buy SSR, BLT, CCV or VGF if you truly don't care where you stay at 7 months on WDW property.
