stupid question about mickey band and annual passes

my kids have mickey bands with annual passes that expire this summer. i have purchased new annual passes (for after the first one expires)....can i add it to the band now...or do i need to wait til the first one expires?

also, we purchased new mickey bands (mainly because we have so many of the colored ones its hard to remember which ones are the most recent..i know, we should have thrown out the old ones)...can i transfer the annual pass(es) to the new character mickey bands?

Everything is liked to your MDE account. As long as the new bands are on the account and the tickets associated to that person are on the account you will be fine.

If you threw out a band I would make sure to "Deactivate" it from your account as well.

I have over 30 MBs and an AP and they all work all the time everywhere.

There is no reason to just throw out old ones. They all work. Eventually they'll lose the battery life to make long range stuff work but they should work for everything else.

I have 13 on my account alone.

1. There was no reason to buy new MBs.
2. Well, no.
3. You don't transfer anything "to" a MB.

Just to keep things as clear as possible-

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

A MagicBand just contains (and weakly "transmits") a unique serial number that is used to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.
Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)
to access the info in your MDE file.
Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each
additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.
So, yes, there can be multiple MB's per person, and each of them can be used by that person, but their entitlements will all be common and identical.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.


The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed from your MDE account when needed.

You don't need to remember which ones are the most recent. You can keep them ALL and use them interchangeably.
