Awesome response! As for that "don't you want to give your husband a son?" routine, I jokingly retorted that he'd already have one if he was man enough to produce one.
It used to really irk me when my twins were babies and people would ask all sorts of intrusive questions:
"Did you conceive naturally?"... None of your business.
"Are they identical?"... Dude, one is male and one is female. Also, they don't even look related.
etc.
I know most people were just trying to be nice and make conversation but it got old really fast.
Darn now you've outed me!!
^^^that especially peeves me when the identical topic is ON THE SAME PAGE!!!!!
(Pardon me to the PP who hates multiple punctuation at the end of sentences.)
People STILL ASK that one.Okay that person needs to culled from the heard.![]()
We have 4 girls and an infant son.
I HATE it when people say "Oh, poor Dad." Or "Finally got your boy, huh?"
You wouldn't believe the number of people who make the exact comments above. And before DS was born, people would straight up ask "Going to try until you get your boy?" I found it intrusive and insulting.
We have 5 kids because we wanted 5 kids. If we had all girls we would be perfectly happy. If we had all boys we would be perfectly happy. I know it is stupid to be so irritated by it, I think it would be less aggravating if it didn't happen ALL THE TIME.
So, do you have a stupid pet peeves you want to share?
I hate it when people don't wait for people to exit the elevator before squeezing on. I also hate it when people squeeze onto the elevator period.

Or when they eat on the elevator. I was crammed on one a few weeks ago and some girl brushed her chest crumbs off onto me. I swear I almost went nutsoEspecially when they haven't showered or put deodorant on. The absolute worst!!

I had 5 in under 7 years, people always asking me if I knew what was causing it. After my firs5 2 were a girl and a boy, people used to say now I could be done. And I know that no one means anything by it. We cause quite a stir when we go anywhere. We've got 5 kids under 10. And people always love babies. So I think it's most people's "something to say". It is just EVERY time we are all out together. It makes me crazy!
I only have one little boy and for numerous reasons, we HAVE to be "one and done." I hate being asked if we're going "give him a sibling" or specifically, if we're going to try for a girl. I'll give strangers a pass, but many people know that it took 4 years of medical assistance with MANY tries just to get pregnant with this one. And he began as a quad, but his 3 siblings passed between 10-12 weeks. We don't know for sure, but in our hearts DH and I believe that they were girls. So if someone close to us asks one of those questions, it's like a knife in the heart.
I know exactly what that feels like. It took us 10 years of trying, with all sorts of fertility meds and procedures and finally had DS25. I was on bedrest from week 13 until I delivered and lost his twin inutero. All sorts of questions or statements, such as “it must have been fun trying”. NO, not exactly when it’s all scientifci, timed, running to doctors every single week for shots, or whatever. After having DS, we did try for another, again with fertility treatments and we lost 5 more pregnancies. After further testing, I was told I had a 10% chance of conceiving and carrying. No, not any of it was fun. Our world was blessed with DS25 and we feel very fortunate to have our son. It hurt for many years as others just didn’t understand. I even had someone say to me that having 1 child was not a family, you needed 2 or more. Really? Who says this stuff???
My friend and work and I were just talking about this the other day. My name is Joy and people think it is clever when they sing "I've got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy down in my heart" at me. My friends name is Rhonda and she said she gets tired of the "Help me Rhonda" jokes.
Mine is Dis related
When people start a thread asking for advice and someone responds with unhelpful or off topic answers.
Yes, it’s a public forum, I get that but it makes me crazy.
One example, a poster was trying for many years to adopt internationally and was asking for advice and someone attacked them for not adopting domestically. None of your business!
Another one, a poster is asking for suggestions for off site hotels near Disney and someone posts all the Disney hotels they’ve stayed at and tells them if they don’t, they won’t have a good vacation
Things like that

Some years ago, in the elevator in the Tampa airport with DH and his parents, some "important" jerk in a suit barged his way onto the elevator as we were trying to get off. He literally pushed DH back. DH said "Excuse me, we're trying to get off" and the jerk said "No excuse for you." A "lady" was right on his heels and said, "Yeah, really." To this day, I wish I had punched both of them. They deserved it.

It happens EVERY DAY when I go to class.
