Stupid/Funny Disney lawsuits

I've just come across an article about a woman who sued disney over the Living Seas ride

A woman sued Disney, claiming eardrum damage from the pressure change during her rapid descent in a “hydrolator” at The Living Seas at EPCOT Center. Disney’s lawyers transported the judge and jury to EPCOT Center, took them into a “hydrolator,” and operated it with both doors open—revealing that there is no actual descent. The judge dismissed the case on the spot.

Hydrolator

I love stupid idiots and their failed attempts of litigation, does nayone know of any more insanely dumb lawsuit attempts?

If you scroll down on that link you provided, the author states that there is no proof that this ever actually happened, and that it seems to be a myth.'

There are plenty of other instances of stupid lawsuits against Disney, but this one doesn't, if you'll pardon the expression, hold water.

On another note, I miss the hydrolators.

Not me - it was so embarrassing having to explain that even though I KNEW the hydrolators were not real, I was too claustrophobic to go in them. It took way too long each visit to convince a CM to let me through the door right next to them!

I remember going to Epcot in the 80's, and the line for the Living Seas ride was always so long. Had they not had the stupid fake Hydrolators, it would not have taken so long. I'm all into the pre-shows when it helps the wait go by quicker, but in the case of the Hydrolators, it created a huge bottleneck.

On another note, I wonder if they could expand Sea Base Alpha since they do not need such a large queue area anymore. Although, I have not been at really busy time, does the queue area ever get full for LSWNF?

Actually I have reason to believe that the lawyer did at least send a threatening letter. I met a person who worked on a project at Disney and one of the things they had to do was get the attorneys to assist them in determining potential liablity for all filed and threatened lawsuits and this letter was in the stack of "threatened" (and expected to pay NOTHING) along with one threatening suit because "my vacation was ruined because it rained and you should have known that would happen and built the park under cover" :lmao:

This lawsuit hasn't happened yet, but I would bet money it will happen!

Guest sues Disney over allergic reaction caused by peanuts in new Fantasyland. Judge and jury go to see actual peanuts only to find they are, in fact, made of cement.

:lmao:
