Stupid comments about pregnancy

I can't sympathize because I haven't been pregnant, but I wanted to say that some of the comments people have made are so bad they're funny!

Congrats on #3! :)

People can be SO rude and feel like it is okay to say anything that comes to mind!

I got the "oh your young, you can have another" comment after all three of my miscarriages. I also had one lady tell me it was MY fault I lost my babies and that I brought it on myself by working too hard or doing too much just days after I went thru the 3rd m/c. I finally got to the point of making a really ugly comment right back ..oh well.

We get the "Oh, I bet you had hoped for a boy" after I tell them that baby #2 is another girl. I inform them now that we're perfectly happy with two girls and how we're just glad this one is healthy after the scare we had with our first daughter druing pregnancy and how I had been on bedrest!

And yes, I had a parent have the audacity to complain to my boss about how could she keep allowing her teachers to get preg during the school yr and how it was messing up her child to have subs for a few weeks etc . Thankfully my boss told her that telling people how or when to get PG is illegal and pointed out that the parent herself had been a teacher and gotten PG during the school yr and left her class to have a baby !! Naturally, she shut up fast!

With that said perhaps you can get a laugh out of this one ... My husband and I dated, married and had a child together all in a years time ... yep we moved fast. Thus, you can imagaine I have lots of fun stories about my very "new" inlaws and here is one.
My husband's father, whom I had only met once before this incounter, yelled to me from the livingroom to the bathroom I was in "hay ... don't slip off the tolet ... it has a tendency to wobble." I could hardly get the nerve up to come out of the bathroom ... surly I was not that big yet.
LOL now, a dozen years later, but not then ... hahaha

I work with the public and they ALWAYS had comments during both of my pregnancies. Most of the time they were appauled that my children go to daycare, they were appauled when they would ask me if I was going to breastfeed and I would say no (still don't understand why people feel the need to ask this question), they were shocked that I would work until the day the baby was born. I would get just about nothing but negativity!!!

The best comment that I got when I was pregnant w/ DD#1 (this isn't a negative one) was, "Your baby will have the prettiest red hair". I said, "Well, my hair color comes from a box, I am really a dishwater blond."(I dye my hair red). She says, "Then she will have beautiful strawberry blond hair." I just laughed and walked away. Did this lady really think this????? Oh well, whatever!!!!

Anyway......as hard as it is, try to let these comments you get go in one ear and out the other. You just have a good healthy pregnancy and have a beautiful baby!!!!

After I miscarried the first time I was pregnant, I got pregnant again, things weren't looking good, lots of bleeding, low HCG levels, etc. So I had a dentist appt, and had to tell them that I was pregnant..and added that it didn't look good.
The dental hygenist and I were talking and she proceeds to tell me that her mother had FOURTEEN miscarriages in a row between her older sibling and her..and that there was a 10 year age difference.
Gee thanks, what an uplifting story, I'm so glad that now I can imagine have double digit miscarriages and spending 10 years on an emotional roller coaster..

The good news is that I did not miscarry..that's my sweet girl in my siggy-still giving me agita 5 years later.;)
