stupid children/swimwear question....

Yes, even stupid children should wear swimwear :rotfl2:

But I doubt anyone would be offended at a shirtless 1 year old.

I too, thought you were talking about stupid children. :rotfl2: I was like, what the heck? :teeth: I agree your 1 yo should be fine. Have fun. :flower: And thanks for the laugh. :goodvibes

Edited to add: Every time DD puts on a particular bathing suit of hers, she puts it on backwards. :sad2: She'll walk around all day like that. Drives me nuts. Don't you notice an all day wedgie in back and a pouch in front?? :confused3  :teeth:

You could always put her in boy colored swimmies and then people would think she was just a shirtless boy like the rest of the boys in the water and think nothing of it.
;)
I'm just kidding, if sun exposure is an issue then I'd say a t-shirt for that reason alone, but not because people may find a shirtless infant offensive.

I couldnt imagine anyone being offended at a topless infant. But to highlight previous posts, PLEASE be careful of shoulders and the back of the neck :sunny:

We were at Epcot with DD 16 months and forgot all about the fountains! What we did was to pop in to a gift shop, pick up a size 2 T-shirt and pulled off her dress, stuck on the T and let her loose in the fountains. The oversized T was soooo cute on her! She had a blast.
I personally would not find a little girl in a swim diaper offensive. Past the age of 3 or 4 I would worry about sicko perverts but babies not so much. I think she will be fine in swim diaper.

Okay, crazymomof4, you have me laughing so hard I had to make a trip to the bathroom.

He he, I see you and I found the same post intriguing Heather! "Stupid Children and Their Swimwear on the next Oprah"

(Ladeedah, so you are staying on site, who cares, I don't care, not me, nope, who would want to do that anyway?)

(Think I could fit into one of your suitcases?)

Ah, the joys of motherhood! Do you also cross your legs when you sneeze, like I do?

Just to clarify, Teresajoy is my sister. She's not some crazy person asking to stow away in a strangers suitcase. Then again, she may be a little crazy... ;)

Yes, crazymomof4, I have been known to do that!

glad to see i could make everyone's day with my stupid children post.......

didn't even think about the comedic posibilities of that when i posted - sure glad i didn't spark of someone thinking i was calling my baby stupid. (the 10 year old - that's a different story - just kidding son!)

thanks for all the replies - didn't think my little critters bod would offend, but you never know and asking can't hurt.

will keep her slobbed up with sunscreen from head to toe and in between as well as carry extra.

thanks again -lori (the one with the stupid kids)

A little girl going topless to play in the water wouldn't offend me, and I doubt it would offend most.

However.... let me just mention something about a "stupid parent!". When we were staying at ASMo this past May, some guy had his son (maybe 1 or 2 y/o) running around over where the tall Woody figure is located. We didn't see the father as we were walked to our room we just saw this naked child running around and were like, "WHAT THE @#$%@!?" I remember thinking that people that let their kids out like that, and unsupervised, shouldn't be having kids. And right about the time I said, "what if that little kid falls while hes running around.. he's gonna be all skinned up". Right about then... BAM... he hit the ground and started screaming. The father was somewhere over behind the Buzz Lightyear statue and came walking over there.

If I hadn't seen anyone, I'm not sure what I should have done. I had thought I would just yell to see whose kid it was and then try and get security to find the parents.

yea - i can't see letting her run around like that in any area other than the waterjet areas. they have that foam there to keep them from slipping and won't cause near the scrapes that pavement would. ouch!

thanks - lori

Honestly, when I see a 1yo in only a swim diaper at the local pool, I usually have no idea whether it's a boy or a girl.

It's fine, but I also like the T-shirt idea, for sun protection.

Personally, one of the sweetest things I hope to see is a one year old in a swimmy diaper frolicking in the sprays!

My kids are older now, and when we go to WDW I absolutely adore seeing the little ones having a blast for themselves.....

So little innocent fun left in the world....(sigh)

Have a wonderful time!

Susan

I live in Toronto, and it's legal for women to go topless, so...........it really wouldn't bother me to see a 1 year old!!!

I don't understand why people would be dressing their kids out of fear of perverts. If their sick minds will allow them to desire a child with no shirt on, what would stop them from thinking the same of a child with a bathing suit on?

:rotfl2: Count me in with the people who thought this was a post about "stupid children" :rotfl2: The tears are streaming down my face as I laugh about why I was drawn to read a thread about stupid children and their swimwear.........What, exactly, was I expecting to read about???????? :rotfl: :rotfl:
:rotfl2: Me too!!! Like a deer in the headlights...I had to see who would be saying something about "stupid children". A few months ago there was a thread title "Bugs at Disney World". I kept thinking...why would Bugs Bunny be at DW instead of Universal. Ahhh, the mind is a wonderful toy! :rolleyes1

I saw a comment here a while back where someone was offended by little girls wearing bikinis.

If someone is offended, they shouldn't look, she's just a baby.

I saw the "bikini thread", too!! CRAZY!!!

If I saw her I would say, Ahhh look!!! I remember when you girls used to play in those with just a swim diaper . . . AND EMBARASS THE HECK OUT OF THEM!!! :rotfl2:

Oh yeah, my dd10 saw the title of the thread and said, "That's mean calling children stupid!!!

I'd just like to point out that regular clothing has a fairly low SPF. There are specialty materials that offer significant protection but they're rather expensive.
