Was anybody else at the 10:50am Stunt Show on Wednesday? My DS5 wanted to see the show again so I took him there while my DW and mom and sis took my DS2 to Play House Disney. The timing was off the entire show. The hero car and the chase cars bumped each other several times. One of the motorcycles wouldn't start so the hero had to wait about 30sec before he took off.

Anyway, during the finally when the red hero car is supposed to come out of the building and jump over the pyrotechnics, it crashed. He came out of the building and caught air and almost missed the ramp. The hatch popped open on the car and when he was supposed to hit the next ramp, the car went off the side of it and landed on the drivers door. A bunch of CM's came out and tipped the car back over and quickly put up a portable tent with sides. The CM's playing the directors didn't realize there mic's were still on and started talking about what happened. Soon a "Technical Difficulty" message started playing and they started clearing the stands. I figured the driver was fine because he wasn't going that fast and I know the cars are setup for safety, but when we were leaving a CM was telling everyone to keep moving and not take pictures out of respect for the family. I thought that was a weird statement and my DS is a little upset at seeing it so I was wondering if anyone knew if the driver was ok?

Sorry for the long post.

:scared1: I hope everyone was ok. I do agree though, that was an odd statement for the cm to have said- "out of respect for the family"....??? Makes you wonder :confused3

Maybe a young CM that didn't know what that saying, they have heard before on TV, actually meant? ;)

I am reaching here because I really don't want anything bad to have happened. My DS (6) LOVES that show......I hate to imagine how we would have handled that happening in front of us AND I really hope that not even a hair on anyone's head was injured. :goodvibes

Honestly, I think if the CM had died it would've been on the news and someone would've posted it here on the DIS.

<<<Just another reason, in my opinion, why they should've kept the Hunchback show instead of this boring thing.>>>

We were there sitting at the top and saw the driver get out on his own and was walking around looking at the ramps trying to figure out what happened. He seemed to be just fine but mad. There was quite a few problems with that entire show. It just seemed like everything was off. I know that they didn't do the jet ski part and were missing a motorcycle. I guess it was just a bad day.

I'm sure the driver was fine. Those cars are probably specially made and reinforced to protect the drivers. The CM probably said that because he/she didn't know what else to say. Plus, it would be rude to start taking pictures of somebody who just got into a car accident on the highway, just because you wanted a souvenir or you thought it was cool.

Thanks, That's wierd, I didn't even see him get out before they put up that tent. My son an I were also sitting up at the top center. The entire show was really off. I think they had to skip the entire jetski section because of the motorcycle not starting. We saw it earlier in the week and it went off without a hitch. It's really a good show.

We were at the 2nd show of the day, seems like it was around 2 something, but not sure about the time. I had never been to see the show before, but it seemed to be going ok for that one. I did notice marks down some of the sides of the cars so I figured not every show went perfect. I wondered why the jet ski was sitting there since they never used it. The guy that was supposed to use it just jumped onto the little wall and then got back on the bike. He seemed to have a little trouble starting it though.
We get to go back next Jan with the kids. Maybe they will show the jet ski part for us then.

There have been a number of crashes since the show opened. Fortunately, the vehicles they use are built for safety and they aren't going terribly fast. At first, we would hear about them on the news. After the first few, they stopped reporting them. I guess it is just part of having a live show. I'm glad the driver wasn't badly injured.

We went to Studios Thursday and a sandwich board sign said the Lights. Motor, Action Show was not operating that day.

Glad to hear that the driver is o.k. I have a question though, do they even still do the jet ski part of the show? When we went in May they did, the show had just opened at MGM. When my friend went in July they didn't, when we went back in Dec. they didn't either. Do they only do it sometimes and not for every show?

I went to the last show of the day on Wed. I did not notice any wrecked cars, but I am sure they have extras. All motorcycles and jet skies were used. I know those cars are small Euro cars and they are stripped of everything. They have roll cages put in and then motorcycle engines in place of car engines. I am sure he was fine. It could not have been worse than what was done to the drivers and cars when they made the Dukes of Hazzard movie. I am pretty sure if there is an accident at an attraction it has to close until an investigation is done. I also think it is investigated by the state.

I hope everyone was ok. It is a stunt show and someone can always get hurt. Glad they do what they do for us to enjoy.,
