ok, i've seen several posts about mousekeeping doing fun things with stuffed animals and i just have to ask...are these stuffed toys your kiddos bring with them? Just want to make sure we maximize our kids' fun with remembering all the "extras" so if you have suggestions and tips, fire away! ;)

Yes often times the mousekeeper will arrange your kids stuffed animals in the windows. They will also make the towel "animals" and place them there as well. Its something fun to find when you return from a day at the parks.

One day we came back to find our kids stuffed animals (that they had brought from home) made into a huge window sculpture that incorporated the drapes and a bunch of towel animals too, plus one of the pillows from the bed. It was amazing! The kids had written the mouskeepers thank you letters each day for the towel animals, and we had tipped $5 each day, plus a bigger tip on arrival day and a note about how impressed and pleased we were with the room etc. but we were absolutely not expecting THAT!!!

DD7's stuffed animals have been arranged several times. She absolutely loves it! Once they were arranged sleeping with their heads on the pillows & covered with the blankets.

Another time, they made it seem like one speaking with all the others looking at him. It was pretty funny.

Ours were placed together in front of the TV, with one of them holding the remote. The kids loved it. Very cute - one of those little things that kids (and apparently adults;) ) remember perhaps even more than the obvious "wow" things we all seek out.

For Christmas last year at Disney , my son received a big lego set. He also got a big stuffed Soccorer Mickey that twinkles when you press his hand. He has a pointed finger. We came back from the park and found Mickey sitting in a chair pointing a finger at the lego set my son had built. We thought that so cute.

Another day Mickey sat in a chair in front of the TV tuned into the Disney station!

We had a mousekeeper that did that once - we had a few disney plushes and one well-loved 'Dolly'. We came back from the parks to find Dolly holding the remote and everyone else gathered around her watching TV too.

DD "lectured" Dolly for watching too much TV and took the remote away. :rotfl:

I left a note for mousekeeping thanking her and noting that Dolly had gotten in trouble for watching too much TV.

Next day, Dolly was reading the book of Snow White to all the rest! :goodvibes Good Dolly!

I specifically bought a bunch of the smaller sized stuffed characters from TDS on sale before our trip. We had all of the Fab 5 (except Pluto...darn stores didn't have him for SIX MONTHS before our trip!) and a bunch of the Toy Story characters as well.

Pretty much every night we came back to them doing something else. One day they were all in the window of the room, another they were watching tv but my favorite by far was them all sitting in a circle "coloring" in dd's coloring books!

Dd also picked up a stuffed "Lady" while we were there and she was found on the floor "playing" with my sneaker!

I took all the stuffed characters and saved them for dd's and my trip in July. We'll see what the Pop mousekeepers do with them in comparison to POR!

Please be warned that this does not happen with every housekeeper. You can take every single stuffed animal your child has and not have anything special done to them. Don't think that this is automatically done to every room. A lot of people will post about the special things they receive in their room but almost no one (the majority) will post that nothing was done.

It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen. I remember it fondly from trips as a child. As an adult I once had a new Eeyore arrnaged to be sitting at the window looking out the balcony.

We just returned Sun. from Pop Century. ONe day the kids stuffed toys were gathered around a towel, holding snacks, as if they were having a picnic. Another day, they were all tucked in bed under my daughter's blanket with rags across their heads and holding my kid's over the counter allergy and tylenol bottles, as if they had stayed in bed sick that day. The funniest one was the day we came in and several animals were on the sink holding the curling iron and hair dryer, one was placed on the ironing board with the iron, and our big Mickey was sitting on the toilet with the toilet paper stretched out to his hand (there were two towels propped under and around him, so it was sanitary). This was the funniest and most unexpected occurance of our trip!!! It really did add to our trip.

We've found one good way to ensure that Mousekeeping arranges your stuffed animals.

Each morning, we put our tip for Mousekeeping in an envelope, and then we put the envelope in the arms of one of the stuffed animals on the bed. When we return to the room in the evening, our stuffed animals are always arranged on the bed or on the window sill. And, many times we've received towel animals, as well.

We've done this at Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach, POP, and All-star sports. And, it has worked at each one!

We were going to tip anyway, but by putting the tip in the arms (hands, paws, etc.) of the stuffed animals, it seems like the Mousekeeper appreciates that.

Oh, we only bring "Disney" stuffed animals with us. Stitch, Daisy Duck, etc. The "other" stuffed animals are left at home.

Mousekeeping did all sorts of cute things with my niece and nephew's toys.

One day, Mickey was reading the other stuffed animals a book. The next, Mickey was leaned up against the wall with his face covered, and the other toys were "hiding" (one under the covers, one with his butt sticking out from under the bed). One day Stitch had snatched a shoe and gotten into the soap, while Mickey was reading a MK map and sipping from the Caribbean Beach mug (with a straw). I think one day they were watching TV, another day waving from the window...

They did something every night with them. It was super cute.

My boys are not into stuffed animals, but they did bring a pretty large collection of Matchbox cars and trucks. Well, everyday when we got back from a day at the parks all of their cars and trucks would be on display in the window. They loved it!

We also came back more than once to towel animals!

:wizard:

My DD8 has brought Disney plush animals and some of her own dolls and Mousekeeping arranged all of them. One of her dolls is in my sig photo and Mousekeeping had a ball posing it as if it were 'playing' with the Disney plushes. :thumbsup2

we didn't get any pixie dust on our last trip & by the end of the trip dd was SURROUNDED by stuffed animals!! (well, princesses). That was at AKL. I'm hoping for a little pixie dust this time around.

At AKL we came back to our room to find my boys' stuffed animals gathered around the room-service menu, like they were deciding what to order. Mousekeeping even placed the phone on the bed and one stuffed animal had his paw on the phone.
Another day my DS's two dinosaurs were into some chocolate I had purchased at the parks. One dinosaur was holding the lid up and the other had his dinosaur arms in the box on the chocolate.
One day they were having a beach party-they were wearing sun glasses and a bottle of sunscreen was with them on a beach towel on the bed.
The boys were always excited to get back to the room to see what the animals had been up to while we were in the parks. I took pictures of all of their animals' Disney adventures so we would always remember them.

Every Disney trip our boys bring some of their favorite Disney Beanie baby type animals. We also purchase new ones each trip. When we leave for the parks in the morning they are just sitting on the bed or on the table.
When we get back in the evening some are in the window. On our last trip we came in one night and One of the animals was reading a book to all the other animals on the bed. Another night they were all on the bed watching TV (TV was on). One time we came in and no animals at all, the kids were sad, then they went into the bathroom and sitting on a towel in the bathtub were all their animals with a note saying "Are you looking for us?"
AWESOME:banana:

Our first year at CSR we had a very good mousekeeper, she had our stuffed animals arranged different every day. It was so exciting to come back to the room and see the things left for us.

Unfortunately this past year, we did not get any cute animal arrangements. Our mousekeeper barely cleaned our room. She would just put all of the animals on the bed.

Not that it makes any difference, but we did leave tips every day both years, but this year our mousekeeper NEVER took any of them. We even printed up envelopes with big thank you notes and she would never take it. I dont know if she couldnt read or what the deal was. I worked hard on those envelopes hoping to make her day a little nicer. We tried leaving it on the bed, on the table, taped to the mirror.

Hoping this year is better with the animal arranging
