My dd has sooooo many stuffed animals. We just redid her room and I have no idea how to store all her stuffed animals. I tried the net hammock and that did not work. Right now they are in a pile in the corner of her room and I have one rubbermaid container and two huge black garbage filled (no more stuffed animals for her :goodvibes) Do you have any suggestions?

Do you watch Hoarders? It may be time to part with some of them. If you don't think you want to, that show will make you want to, lol!

Yes I do watch hoarders and it is no where near that. I actually just cleaned out the toy room today and will be donating many bags filled with toys. I would love to toss some of them, but she loves them and does not want to part with them yet. So I am looking for a way to store them where she can still play with them in her room.

my mom built me a 5 foot by 5 foot box and bought me a ladder. I used to love jumping in my huge bin of stuffed toys. I was spolied! I would suggest a box or toy chest

I use a huge 3 bin laundry basket on wheels. I got it at Wal-Mart for very cheap. It isnt really a basket I guess...it is this big rack with a meshy fabric bag with 3 big compartments. Works fantastic! And you would die if you saw how many stuffies I have packed in it:thumbsup2

I could only find a blue one so it is in our toy room and not my dd themed bedroom...she only keeps her special ones on her bed...she goes into the bin and switches them up about once a month:goodvibes

We used two 1 inch dowels which I painted the color of DDs room. DH connected the two using eye-hooks and drilled tiny holes around the dowels. I screwed in those cup hooks you can get at Wal Mart or Target etc. and hung each stuffed animal on the hooks. If they didn't have something to hang them by, I just put a ribbon around their neck. We actually had to have a total of three dowel rods, one single and one double) Then my DH hung them from the ceiling using a chain. It was unique and she loved it. They hung on either side of her bed low enough for access, but high enough to be out of the way. It made for cool decoration and had a very narrow footprint. Worked for us!:cheer2:

I'm glad to see this thread. I have the same problem.

I have a collector that knows and loves them all. We have slowed the collection down to additions once or twice a year. I'm looking for storage ideas too.

I'd probably go buy a couple of those Space Bags--the size used for comforters and put them in there and suck the air out, store them under the bed or in a closet. They will keep them fairly air tight and less inclined to collect dust, dust mites, etc. Unless of course you want them on display and then this isn't a good idea.

I bought 2 colorful pop-up laundry hampers that are covered. DD can pull out her animals and play with them and then put them back. Want to move them?, just pick up the hamper. I got them at Target.

We have the same issue. The toy box is full and we are getting to the stage that she has no room in bed because she doesn't want to put them on the floor. I have no idea what to do with them. She needs access to them as she plays with them all the time.

DD's went to "Camp Storage" a while ago. I packed them all into black trash bags, double bagged. Then inserted the hose from the vacum and sucked the air out. Quick tied a knot/zip tied the bag. Inserted the "air out" bag into a second bag. Lugged them to the storage unit DH has for his business. She askes every now and then if they are still at "Camp". They really, truly are there. Her faorites, including many, many Poohs, Eyeore, Tigger, a Piglet, a Mickey's Teddy, a Duffy and MANY friends are in her room. Everyone else is staying at camp.

I'm hoping when she starts college I can convince her to donate some of this....only two years to go.

If you are looking to donate any that are in great condition, there is an organization called Loving Hugs that willl take them. They are sent overseas to servicemen who give them to kids, they also go to places like Haiti and other places that have had disasters. You can google the name and find out all about them.

When my daughter was little, we took a wooden pole (it was probably a very large dowel rod) that we attached to the ceiling with a hook. We drilled little holes all up and down the pole on all sides and inserted short pieces of a dowel rod into each hole. I sewed little elastic loops on the back of the head of each stuffed animal and we hung the animals on the dowel pegs. It was really cute hanging in the corner of her room.

I've always wanted a big BOOKSHELF then put FABRIC MESH over about half of the opening. that way you can see what you have. it could also be like a bed for them.
you could get the book shelf at the thrift store and the Fabric it can be fabric that goes with your room. you don't have to get mesh if you don't wanna. then simply use stapler, and put ribbion over the staples with some glue. hope that helps!
