Going on first cruise soon. I need remember to bring passport and port arrival form. What else? I am just asking if there are any other papers we need to bring other than passport and port arrival form. Thanks!

You're going to get a lot of different answers. My personal suggestion is take whatever you use on a daily basis, and don't want to have to buy elsewhere.

Make your list as you go through your daily routine but leave off things you can go without.

We (dh, 12 yo dd and me) take anything we think we'll need. Many folks would call it stupid to bring so much (including tweezers, rain ponchos, and most medications I can imagine) but should I need and not have one of those things, I will drive myself crazy to acquire it. Not so easy on vacation. To each their own.

If you have an inside cabin, i do highly recommend a night light for your room snd bathroom. The tap on kind works well.

There are many packing lists you can search for on the Internet. Good place to start, eliminating things you wouldn't use, remind you of things you might now of thought of. Sunscreen, sunglasses, etc. Clothing is tough, it is often said lay out what you want and leave half home. Mix and match is your friend.
Everything is so personal. There is a post now about someone sounding like they bring kitchen appliances! Not sure that is necessary but to each his own.

I do the same. The ship has a very limited selection of meds/toiletries and they cost a lot more than on land.

I can go years without needing it, but the one time I do, I don't want to have to spend $$$ on aloe vera or gas medicine lol.

I have this problem too when deciding what I need or don’t need for my contract. I always have to debate with myself that if I haven’t needed it at home, I probably don’t need it on the ship. But you’re exactly right, if I do find that I need something that I don’t have, it is a hassle to get and money “wasted” 😂

It sounds like you are just asking about any other papers you need not just stuff in general, correct? The only other papers I can think of would be shore excursion information, but that’s usually only if it’s not a dcl excursion.

Anything I have ever printed I've almost never needed. I would have said port arrival paperwork but that waa already noted.
For me, the things I most dislike leaving behind are those odd things one doesn't think of. Especially on a cruise, there are so many things people have learned (the hard way) to bring. 😁

getting ready for our first cruise in about 29 days. Do you need to bring your vaccination cards?

We brought ours but all you ever need is a picture of it. We never needed to show the cards there, but we did need to show it at a restaurant on our trip down. It all depends on the requirements of the states you’re passing through.

Not many papers override a passport, if all have. A passport you should be good to go

Getting a variety of over the counter meds is so difficult. They can also run out of supplies and no way to get them in.
Headache/migraine
Acid/gases stomach problems
cramps
Constipation/diarrhea
Sore throat
Cold medicine
Covid tests
Being prepared in case you get Covid wouldn’t be the worst thing to bring also.

A hairbrush. I forgot mine in October, and there were no decent hairbrushes in the gift shops- they were small, hard plastic ones, like doll hairbrushes. For a woman with long hair, that's a problem.

If you forget your toothbrush, contact lens solution, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, period supplies, anti-nausea medication, etc., they have all of that available to purchase onboard. But not a decent hairbrush. Don't forget to bring one.

We needed to show our drivers licenses (or passports) along with our KTTW at the checkpoint on Castaway Cay. I felt more comfortable leaving the passports in the room safe, and having our drivers licenses in our beach bag. Other cruisers have reported different procedures.

I have always done the same. I take my license and tuck it in the lanyard pocket with my ship card. That's all I've taken to any port I've disembarked at. (Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Nassau, all the locations of the 11night southern Caribbean.) My passport stays in the safe in the stateroom.

Not required, but I recommend bringing a printout or cell phone screenshot of any DCL activities or excursions you reserve. On our last cruise, the time that showed up for brunch in my app when on the ship was different from the time that I reserved. Not sure what happened--maybe some kind of system glitch, but having a paper backup is a good idea.

DCL does not require you to bring your vaccine card on the ship because that is in Safe Passage, but I've seen some videos of folks who explored on their own at a port and had to show their vaccine card to be allowed in a bar for a drink onshore. At a minimum, I would take a photo of it so you have it if for any reason there's some issue with the Safe Passage accounts.

Just thought of something and idk if anyone else mentioned (didn't go back and reread). Bring your travel insurance policy. Assuming that you have one. These days you just never know what's going to happen.
