We will be headed to Disney 11/9-11/17  and I would love to get some opinions on RD strategies for Studios. Our HS day is on 11/12 (Tuesday) which is a regular hour day 9am-9pm. Our first FP is for RnRC (10am-11). Would you RD Slinky? Or SWGE? I know there will be crowds headed to both places. I see the benefit in doing SDD first so this way we have more time to wander through SWGE later on in the day, but is GE usually insane the later on it gets in the day?

This is a best guess, but if you're going to be at the park an hour before open, I would RD SDD. If your going to be at the park 15 minutes before open it's more of a tossup because SDD will have a big line ahead of you already.

In addition, MFSR has around double the capacity of SDD, and SDD has FP taking the vast majority of that capacity where MFSR is exclusively standby (for now).

MFSR at both DHS and Disneyland has had wait times typically peak early in the day and get lower in the evenings. It's a weird pattern but it's been pretty darn consistent across both parks.

Take that all together and I'd say get there by 8 and RD SDD. Then for your remaing FPs follow the strategy outlined here.

This is great information! Thank you so much!! We will definitely be at the gate no later than 45 mins before opening so hopefully we will be towards the front of the crowd.

Agree, if you plan to RD SDD, arrive at least an hour before opening time. Generally, they have let you in about 30 minutes early and then to TSL about 15 mintues early. If you are not near the front of the line, the line builds quickly. When we did it in April, we waited about 5 minutes to ride and got on about 8:45. By the time we got off the ride, the line was 1/2 way to Pixar Place. We rode AS2 and TSMM. By 9, the line was 90 minutes.
Not sure how much of an impact SWGE has had on the TSL crowd.

If you're doing RD for SDD may the odds be ever in your favor. I did it twice and it was about as close to chaos as I've ever seen at WDW

🤪 Im going to need all the coffee and patience I can get. I remember RD'ing Splash several years ago, and between getting nudged with strollers from behind me and huge backpacks to the side of me, I thought I was going to lose my mind. By the time we got on Splash, I felt like I just won the Olympics!
