My wife, whom I dearly love:love: , doesn't "Get it":confused3 . I've been working on it for 20 years and some progress is being made (ie. she loves EPCOT...something to build off of!). However, I doubt she will even be a Disney nut like me:wizard: pirate::earsboy: .

So to maintain household harmony and reach an agreement on a Disneyland vacation, we need to spend an equal amount of time at non-Disney destinations around LA. I was thinking of taking the family to do some Studio tours, but which ones? Too bad Disney Studios doesn't give public access:sad2: .

I heard (dare I say the "U" word?!) Universal Studios was a bit worn down, but still fun to visit at least once. Is that true? Is it still worth going to? I have 3 kids (7, 15, 15). What about Warner Brothers or Sony/MGM or ??? We plan to stay 3-4 nights in Beverly Hills before DLR. I kinda like the idea of tunneling under the Hidden Mickey fence around the Disney Studios at night and walking around the hallowed grounds, but can't get my wife to agree to that...don't know why.

Thanks for any advise you can give me.

I have heard good things about the warner bros studio tour, it is a bit pricey though at $5 but if you have an entertainment book you can get a coupon for $5 off each ticket up to 6 people. Universal is a fun day. It is no nearly as nice of a theme park as Disney, but the hollywood aspect of it makes it fun. More shows then rides, but a good way to spend a day.
Also check out Hollywood and Highland it is a shopping dinnng complex and where the kodak theatre is located. Across the street from there is the El Capitian Thartre which Disney owns. You can claim ingnorance and catch a movie there or at the next door Graumans (sp?) Chinese theatre.
Have fun on your trip!

I liked the Warner Bros. tour the best. We were lucky enough when we went and got to see george clooney while on the tour. There is a nice Harry Potter Muesum, and you get to visit lots of sets and see a lot of what goes in to making a movie. It is a bit pricey but definetly worth the $$.

This tour looks kind of fun! I am just wondering, what options for getting there would there be if we are not planning on renting a car. Can you hire a car service to pick you up at an Anaheim hotel? We really don't want to drive if at all possible. Our last trip to DL was fall 2005 and we did Universal at that time. Looking for other options for our next trip. Thanks DISers!
