Hi all! We are WDW vets, but planning a quick trip to DL in Oct. I have never been to Cali before, so lots and lots of ?

My husband is all eh about disney, but has always wanted to go to hollywood, he is a movie freak. So in my brief looksy loo this weekend, it appears that while Californians have children, they are not allowed inside until 18...:rotfl2: Anyone know of any studio tours or show tapings that allow children (our kids are 6, 7 and 11). If not, any other moviesh/celebrity type activities you could suggest, do the tour busses allow children?

I figured we could go see the footprints what else if within walking distance? we will probably just taxi around. I want to take the kids to the tar pits.

Any help would be soooo appreciated. Thanks!

I think most of the tapings are 18 and up :(
There's an recent action-packed itinerary suggestion in this thread:

and another good permanent link at the top of this forum.

The sidewalk stars and the footprints at the Chinese are all in a very walkable area - but you'd want to drive to the tar pits.

We are in the same boat with the studio tour. This is probably a once in a lifetime trip for us and I would have LOVED to go to a taping or studio tour but we have a 13, 11, 11, and 6 year old. I considered going to Universal Studios because you do get to go on the set of Wisteria Lane and War of the Worlds... Here is a trip report from someone that went on the VIP tour of Universal Studios.

The link takes you to page 7 which is when the Universal part starts. I found the whole trip report to be interesting though because they did Hollywood too.

Here is the link describing the cost.

It is expensive but gives you front of the line access to all rides and shows in addition to the private tour. The trip report mentioned that they went on the regular tour after they did the VIP experience. They said this about the two tours,"The regular tour was quite a bit different, so we were happy that we did both. In saying that, we don't regret paying the higher fees for the VIP tour. It was worth its' weight in gold. First class all the way...small group, no waiting in line, behind the scenes access, great food, and great company! It truly was a fantastic experience!"

I am too cheap to pay the price for the VIP experience, but Universal is running a deal now where you pay $77 and get two days at the park. We did consider doing that.
