I am so excited...we have our first trip "home" planned for 6/26-7/1 at the BWV. I just got the call the our waitlist for BW view came through.

Does anyone have any recommendations for rooms. We need non-smoking for health reasons, but other than that, we just care about having a nice view.

Thanks for any ideas!

Our favorite preferred view, non Boardwalk view room is one with a view of the quiet pool. It is a great area and by using a stairway allows you easy access to the "quiet pool" and Community Hall.

We had a very nice studio view in August. top floor, overlooking the Village Green. We could see the Boardwalk itself and IlluminNations in the evening. And it was about 3 doors down from the elevator.

But we loved our room overlooking the quiet pool and the canal last week. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the views unless you end up looking at the old DVC bldg that's being redone. But not too many rooms are being used in that area if I've heard correctly.

We've stayed in standard view and preferred and had a great room each time. Our first Boardwalk view is next week and I'm sure it'll be great too! I think every room is good. It's better than being at work!

My gut (I have limited experience) is that the best views are the worst walk, and the best walks have the worst views.

We were right over the Screen Door. Very convienent to the elevators and only one flight away from the ground if we decided to hoof it. But the low floor close to the Village Green meant we saw more of the ESPN Bar than Illuminations, and heard a lot of boat noise from our room.

Congrats on getting that Boardwalk view! (Kind of sounds like some of the other posters missed that you got the guaranteed BW view).

Anyway, IMHO, all of the BW view rooms have good views. If it makes a difference, you can request to be near the elevators (helpful if you are unable to use the stairways) - or not near the elevators (quieter rooms because there isn't as much noise from the hallways).

I just requested N/S and upper floor for our Boardwalk view room (just got back last Saturday). Had a great room. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the view no matter which BW view room you stay in.

Best wishes -

I had requested Village Green View; upper floor, non smoking and we got room (studio) 5065. Awesome room. 2 doors from elevator, overlooking Village Green AND Boardwalk, you could see Illuminations at night; watch the Friendships going back and forth and the Beach Club across Crescent Lake. At night it was pure magic! Lovely for our first stay at our "Home" resort.

I just double-checked what our room number was in August. 5063!! Next door to yours. It was a wonderful room. In fact, I think it quite spoiled us for future visits.

I don't recall our room number, but we were in the section on the Boardwalk above where the sales offices used to be - maybe Crest of the Wave is what it was called? It didn't have a huge balcony (a few of the 2nd floor rooms do), but it was on the 5th floor, wasn't too bad of a walk from the elevator and was the perfect place to watch Illuminations every night, and to enjoy the entertainment on the Boardwalk but if you closed your door to the outside was very quiet. I'd love to be there again!

All of your suggestions sound great! Being able to see Illuminations would be great! Rooms 5063 and 5065 sound magical!!!

I just can't wait to get "home!"

It totally spoiled us; I was worrying for 11 months about having a great room location and when we were checking in and she showed me the map of where our room was located, I almost passed out!! lol By the way, our studio had the daybed which my 7 year old slept in and fit just fine (he is a skinny little thing tho!!)

Just got back today. Had a 2BR Boardwalk view. The studio side was 2045. Right over Screen Door. Only complaint was that the balcony was a solid wall, so we had to stand to see everything. Would have preferred a slat style, but we are not complaining. This room is on the lobby level, so never a wait for an elevator. Short walk from the lobby also.

How was your view from 2045? I assume this is paired with 2043? We have a 2BR BW view in a couple months, and I'm trying to figure out where the best rooms are. :) Could you see fireworks? And, was there any type of construction that you noticed in the hallways or public areas?

Thanks!

we had a studio in june, it was either 5013 or 5015, i can't remember. long walk but fantastic view of illuminations ::yes::

That was the studio for our two bedroom. I thought the view "OK" We couldn't see much of the illuminations fireworks. All the BW rooms are going to have a clear view of Spaceship Earth and a lovely vista of the Y&BC.

Do keep in mind to keep your expectations and requests rational. The perfect view may already have guests in it! Also, I wouldn't make requests based on construction now. They are replacing piping - which means they probably do a few hundred feet of hallway each week. Where they are now, they won't be by the time you get there.

Yes, 2043 was the studio side, and 2045 was the 1BR side of our 2BR. View of Illuminations was not great, you kinda had to stretch around to the right to see any of it. You could sure hear it though! Really rattled our windows! No complaints, though. The added part of Illuminations at the end for the Holiday season was fantastic! No construction worries; the men were working in the hallway just past our room, but we never heard a thing.
