For us, the 1 bedroom is why we bought into
DVC. Before DVC, we preferred to stay at places like Homewood Suites which has a smiliar (but not as nice) layout. This is why we prefer the 1 Bedroom.
1. King bed in the master
2. Kids sleep in a seperate room. They go to bed before 8:00 even on vacation. And we are scarred from DS5 having colic and feel like our kids are light sleepers. They really aren't, haha!
3. Kitchen area. We don't cook much. In fact, we cooked at Aulani, but never have on a theme park vacation. But, I like having the space to eat a simple breakfast or snack.
4. 2 bathrooms (at some properties, one being VGC where we normally stay). In planning our WDW trip, two bathrooms was a priority for DH
5. Laundry. We could probably live without this, but it's a nice perk!
6. Two beds in the family room area- sofabed and pull down. The kids have their own beds. I'm not sure this is all properties either.... But it was the case at VGC and Aulani.
We do think in a couple years, we may hit a nice sweet spot where studios work for us for short 2-3 night trips. We are thinking when the kids are between 6-9ish. They won't need to crash so early, will stay in bed better and not mind sharing a bed. But even with those ages, longer than 3 nights, wended our space!
