Studio or 1 bedroom

For me it depends on how long the trip is. A studio is fine for a short trip. Next year we're going for a weekend before a cruise and are planning on a studio. But when we go next summer for a week or more we're getting a one or 2 bedroom.

We are a family of four (ds 9 and dd 10) and we much prefer the 1 bdrms. We do stay in a studio sometimes when we are trying to squeeze in another trip on an annual pass, but it feels much less home-y and more like you are staying in any old hotel room. We love the in-room washer and dryer! You can throw a load in the wash in at night, switch it out in the morning, switch again during an afternoon break, etc. When in a studio, you have to commit to your laundry for a couple hours in order to complete a wash and dry cycle.

Having the counter space and full kitchen is so nice as well. We typically do a couple low-key dinners (baked potatoes and tacos) and all breakfasts in the room. If we are taking a longer trip we do a rest day in the middle, and a studio is just too cramped for that.

We were surprised that the 1 bdrm at VGF have only one bathroom - a very spacious bathroom, but just one. We were used to having two at BLT.

My DH and I do not have kids, but we almost always do a 1-bedroom, unless it is just one night. For me, the King bed is really important. We also really like having a washing machine. I always have to explain that to people when they look at our photos. They will see me wearing the same shirt or skirt over and over, and I have to tell them that we do laundry more on vacation than we do at home! I tend to find something that I am comfortable in, and wear it over and over.
