Just go back today from OKW. I've heard in the past it's hard to go back to a studio after using the larger accomodations. Let me second that remark. We were in a second floor studio in Bldg 28 for the last week. We chose a studio to save some points for a fall trip. The room was perfectly clean and in good condition but we totally missed the kitchen, living room and closet space. Also, unit 2826 had a terrible view of the golf course. We won't make that mistake again. We previewed VWL and they are as nice as has been reported on this site. BTW, pool-hopped to BWV on a very busy day and were not checked. We own there too but I understand that may not matter as far as using the facilities is concerned

but as you explained they are not 1 or 2 bedrooms. But for what you get they are an excellent bargain in my opinion.

We own at OKW and have only stayed in studios- we like to stretch our points- but when we add at VWL and BCV in the near future we thought we'd try a 1 bedroom. Now I'm not so sure, you guys are scaring me off. So far we've been more then satisfied with studios, don't know that I want to take a chance of losing that. Decisions, decisions .....

Hey, guys it depends on what you're looking for. We've been DVC members since 1993 and have had 2 bedroom, 1 bedroom and studio accommodations. EAch has worked out great for us. And yes, I would go back to a studio after having been in a 2 bedroom. It all stems from how you want to use your points. A couple of years ago I turned to my DH and DS and posed this question: 1 week in a 1 bedroom or 2 weeks in a studio over Christmas and New Year's? We obviously took the 2 weeks because the time at WDW was more important than the room. We've used our points well over the last 8 years and we feel that DVC was the best thing we ever did. We've stayed at the Plaza in NYC on points, taken the 7 day Magic cruise, been to Vero Beach, etc. Just think through how you want to use your points and then do it.

We used to stay in a 1 bedroom and then stay in a studio the next trip. Now we stay exclusively in the studio because we want to do more things with our points. We are going on the cruise for the 3rd time in the fall, plus we have been to DC and Ashville, NC on points. We like the 1 bedrooms for the space and the washer/dryer, but we'd rather use our points more wisely.

If you pay cash, the difference in price is about 35-40%, while the difference in price with points is 100%. Studios are by far the best value, although Obviously, a 1 BR is very comfortable and has the Jacuzzi and all, but a studio is better than any Deluxe Hotel Room and you get the most bang for you buc (or points) with it.

I hate to admit this, but we usually stay in a 2 bedroom. My boys are older and they hate sharing a bed.
My DH and I probably will only stay in a 1br because we like all the space.
Plus I love to cook and I still cook on vacation.

Looks like DVC has something for everyone :)

VWL 12/01 -- First trip with DVC points!!

We've used them all (except for the grand villas).
When it's just my DW and I, a studio. When it's my wife and 2 daughters, a 1 bedroom. When it's the 4 of us and friends, a 2 bedroom. The best attraction of the DVC is its flexibility. Each accomodation is perfect for a specific requirement.

Just goes to show you "that's why they make chocolate and vanilla." I was in no way putting down the studios , just comparing. An aside to my post is our 19 year old son, who's schooling in Winter Park, stayed with us and he's like so many other 19 year olds, messy. This may have added to our feeling of space-deprevation!
We have used the 2-Bedroom and GV accomodations and found them wonderful. Just my $.02.
