Do the mini-fridges in studios have a freezer compartment? I usually like to buy a half-dozen of bagels and freeze them so that they stay fresh for the week. I'm wondering if there will be room for them.

Yes, it may not get cold enough to freeze well, but it should keep bagels nice and fresh.

I was wondering the same thing about freezers in the studios. I have a mini fridge at home the freezer barely works to keep things frozen. Wondering if they have something better in the Studios? I only stayed in larger units before. My first studio experience is coming up next month.

Basically the same as your home mini fridge.

I don't think the bagels would fit in the freezer compartment in the bag in most of the studios I have been in. On the other hand our fridge is either really cold and almost like a freezer in itself or the freezer doesn't really work almost every time.

We were in a studio at BLT 3/1 - 3/8 and we put our blue ice in the freezer for the drive home. They froze solid. Didn't have to refreeze them during the two day drive home to Houston (we spent the first night in Ocean Springs, Mississippi). However, with those two blocks of blue ice (2 1/2" X 6" each) in the freezer there wasn't room for much else. Had to remove the toy sized ice cube tray to fit them into the freezer.

A studio refrigerator (I think this one was at AKV)-

A pic is worth... well you know ;) Thanks Simba's mom.
Wow - in all my stays in studios (over 10) I've never seen the container at the bottom of the fridges. I wonder what happened to them all.
Edit - just noted the door is different from all the others too. Maybe it's just a different model.

So does a gallon bottle of milk fit in the studio fridge? We're planning on buying sandwich stuff, yogurt, milk and cheese. How about a 2 liter bottle of soda?

Thanks!

Only if you pull out a shelf I believe a gallon of milk would fit. You could lay a 2 liter soda down, I'm not sure there would be room enough for it to stand up even if you took a shelf out. It would probably take up an entire shelf. The door on the one we had in our BLT studio was set up for cans using a rack that would dispense them (we had 8 ounce bottles) so they wouldn't fit there. Nor would our 16 oz. bottles of water. I think we had three shelves in our mini-refrigerator, no bin at the bottom.

I've never had any problem freezing about 3-4 bottles of water in the studio freezer. The last trip we had the Jimmy dean sandwiches and frozen water bottles in the freezer. Actually if you don't watch it, everything in the frig will freeze too in some of the studio frigs...

We've had things freeze in the refrigerator section.....like water and salad
And not freeze in the freezer section.....like fudgcicles.
