Studio Dedicated or Lockoff??

I'm in the process doing of a day-by-day reservation for May2008 at BCV.

What is the difference between being in a dedicated or lockoff studio ?? I know what they are by definition, but should I request one over the other? Is one better to have than the other or is it just preference?

If I recall correctly: A lock-off will not have the mini-fridge and microwave since it can be used with the 1BR and full kitchen. It will have a little more closet space instead. The dedicated will have the fridge and microwave.

If you have a dedicated studio, it will not have a door between it and another room. A lockoff will have a door between it and a one bedroom to make a two bedroom lockoff.

All studios have the microwave and undercounter refrigerator. With a dedicated two bedroom, the second bedroom will not have the kitchenette.

At the BCV, the connecting door from a studio to 1 bedroom is near the door, in the little hallway. Because it's sort of out of the way, I've never noticed noise from next door. VWL and BWV have the connecting door right in the living area and so, I think it's more important to try to get a dedicated studio in those places.

I do not know if MS takes a reservation for a dedicated studio. I understand that they book dedicated ones first, so not to tie up a 2 bedroom combo unnecessarily.
