Our trip this past week was wonderful except our lovely expereince on Test Track. My 5 year oldl DD and myself have ridden Test Track numerous times and never had a problem. This time we had my parents, my husband and my DD all in the same car. I had a feeling something was wrong because when we were going through the brake test part the car was buzzing so much I felt like I was getting shocked from an electrical current. I don't know if this had anything to do with it, but I had never had that experience before.

Anyways we are outside about to hit the straight away when our car STOPS. Here we are hanging at a 45 degree angle for eight full minutes. (seemed like forever) My DD was freaking out screaming bloody murder that she was going to die, my mom had a look of panic on her face but was trying to stay calm for DD and my husband was trying to keep himself from falling out of the car. When we finally did start up again it was at full force and the CM asked if we wanted to ride again and my DD and mom screamed NOOOO!!!.

For the rest of the trip my DD was afraid to ride things and even though she loved TT she says she will never go on it again. Psychological counseling anyone?!

Anyone else had a memorable stoppage experience?

Hi.

I've been to the Disney parks many times, and I've got to say never had any problems. Then I went one year and was on Space Mountain when it broke, and then on Test Track when it broke.

Space Mountain was interesting because we were on that initial climb, stuck for about 15 minutes. Then they got it working again, after they turned the lights on, and sent us through with the lights on. Let me tell you, that was an experience. You never realize how the track seems to loop around itself and how close the supports are until you've ridden through with all the ligths on. We did get to go on again and right to the front of the line with the lights off again, so no harm no foul.

Now, Test Track I had never been on, so didn't know what to expect. But after doing the braking section and sitting there for 5 minutes I figured something was wrong. Sure enough it was experiencing technical difficulties, so we had a CM come and get us out of our car, then walk us through the ride to the emergency exit, and then down a few flight of stairs (you never realize you're not on ground level really) to the entrance. We were given passes to go to the front of the line for this ride, but as they had to close the ride for the rest of the night and we were leaving the next day we still have them. Going back in October and hope to use them then.

Two rides also broke at Busch Gardens that year, so perhaps it was me. Keeping my fingers crossed that my "ride karma" will be better this time around. :p

We're AP holders and only an hour away so we've down Test Track many, many times.

Test Track breaks all the time. It's been a problem child since day one. In fact we are always surprised if it doesn't go down at least once in the time we stand in line to ride it. Doesn't stop us though! I can see how it might be scary for a child though. I hope it doesn't ruin her future rides in the parks.

We were on Test Track for the very first time last Tuesday(5/25) when the ride stopped just as were were fixing to do the crash test. My neice--just turned 8--freaked out and gave us a hard time. Thanks to the nice young lady with us who tried to calm her down. Counseling sounds good. Last year the freak out was at Tough to be a Bug. Anyway, the ride was stopped for about 5 minutes and then away we zoomed. By that time, she just wanted to get off. At least we didn't have to worry about the long lines and fastpass times to do the ride again!

On my first trip back in October 2000 - I rode TT twice when it stopped. One time it started up again rather quickly, but the other time it stopped right after the test without anit-lock brakes. Well a CM came and got us out and gave us the passes that we later used.

Just as TT has been a problem "child" for WDW - the Rocket Rods were an entire problem "family" for DL. I loved this ride but thrying to engineer a high speed ride on the same track where the PeopleMovers (equivalent to Tomorrowland Transit Authority) was just not a stork of imagineering genius. After a short stint at the park, they were closed for good. I think I rode the rods 5 times and they broke down on 4 trips.

The worst time we were stuck was on Bg Thunder Mountain at DL. I think we sat on the second lift hill for nearly 1 hour with no CM coming around to inform us of what was going on. It was horrible.

I was stuck on Soarin Over California At Calif. Adventure.

The attraction started ok, then not too long into the "movie", all of a sudden the film stopped, lights came on and two of the "hang glider carriages" returned automatically to their lowered position, but the carriage I was on, the center one, stayed completely up in the air! Not good for someone who hates heightt as I do!! My carriage and all the guests on it were stuck in the air for about 15 mins. until the maintenence people were able to manually jog us down. WE were all given fast passes to return, but I turned it down . I havent been on the attraction since, nor probably will i ever again. :)

Oh! That Soarin' experience would scare me too. I'm also afraid of heights.

We got stuck on Big Thunder Mt at WDW once. They fairly quickly got us out of the cars and we all walked back through the corridors and stairs inside the Mt. It was pretty cool. DS thought it was the best ride in the park. <g>

Once I was on Skyway from FL to TL when I wished it would stop. There was a half way point where the cars dipped down but the ride didnt' stop. Except that day, there were two CMs giving each push to get it going again at the halfway point. They didn't push the car ahead of us on in time, so BAM! we slammed into them. Not fun at all.

it's not a trip to WDW unless you've gotten stuck on a ride!

we 'got stuck' on
Buzz Lightyear
Test Track
Pooh
Snow White
Splash Mt
Dinosaur (I think that was many years ago though)

the WORST was getting stuck on "the Cat in the Hat" at IOA - and they didn't turn the music off! Was ready to chew my safety restraint off!

I would love to get stuck on Test Track again as long as I never get stuck on It's a Small World. AIGHHHHHH!!!

They would have to put me in a rubber room for awhile.

I've actually been stuck on IASW. 35 minutes of sheer annoyance. The only thing worse than IASW music for 35 minutes is listening to Don't Worry, Be Happy for the same amount of time in preparation for a talent show. I should have gone to a rubber room for a while on both instances.

and dd who's 4 went CRAZY:crazy:

The safety rails came up as soon as the power went down & the safety lights came on in the room right after you go up hill.

An announcement came on that a host or hostess would assist us shortly ... NOT shortly enough for my dd.

They emptied the entire que area & closed the doors for the ride as soon as we were out the front door. The hosts & hostesses couldn't have been ANY nicer to us & my dd!

They DID give us passes to the front of the line when the ride was back on again.

And wouldn't you know it ... the family who was stuck on the ride w/ us was in front of us in the returning fast pass line & we did get stuck for a few seconds ... just enough for my dd to get  again!

Just last week we were stuck on Tomorrowland Transit Authority.

We we about to go into the Space Mountain part (which is my favorite part  )and the ride stopped.About 10 minutes later we were told to get out of the vehicles and walk along the sides of the track. It was actually quite fun :teeth:

We were waiting in line for Test Track one day and the ride stopped--and then the skies opened up and started POURING down rain! When the ride finally started moving again 15 minutes later, the people getting off the cars that had been stuck outside were absolutely drenched to the bone--I felt sorry for them! I think I will try to avoid Test Track if rain is approaching!

I tried to get on test track several times in the last week

every time it broke down and I eventually gave up waiting in line

my wife was on it once when it broke down

TT is one of our favorites and we've gotten stuck more than once. The most memorable was just me and a friend. We were at the speeding point and had just passed the speed sign and felt three puffs. We slowed with each one until we stopped completely. Sideways. Just at the turn to return into the building. 65 to 0 in two seconds (not sure, just felt like it).

It smelled like burning rubber and we were concerned the car could be on fire or explode. My friend tried to open her seat belt, she was the one sitting on the left so was angled sideways towards me. It was locked securely in place as she was.

A cm came out to keep us calm. Once he explained there would be no fire, we were calm. Did we go again? You bet! Twice more but then the ride closed down for the next hour.

Many years ago at DL when Pirates of the Caribbean was new, oh around early 70's I'd guess. The ride came to a bump-bump-bump type stop. Everyone knows the water ride thump as boats ram the one in front of them at full speed. Then the "Oh No, Ride Broke" Well this happened near the entrance of the Pirate Ship battling the Fort as it rounds the corner into the scenario. We were there a short while maybe 3,4 minutes or so. Then the ride again started. Then stopped. Again and again. It took about a half hour or so to get to the bottom of the exit lift hill. Turned out that the lift hill broke down and everybody was exiting 2 boats at a time trough a emergency exit near the base of it. Needless to say that it was a very interesting ride as we had plenty of time to "study" everything. It was great!

That is soo funny! On Sat. (5/22) My husband & I got stuck on Test Track TWICE!!!! We rode it and it stopped outside in the hot sun on a 45 degree angle for like 5-8 minutes, I was afraid I was gonna fall out too! Then it started up again and they let us go through again if we wanted, so my husband I decided to do it again, thinking it'd be fine. Not so!!! We go stuck again outside, luckily it was in the shade and not on the angle again!! We were stuck there for about 5 min. when 2 CM came and we had to walk out. They gave us fastpasses good for anytime, I think only for that day, we didn't use them, I still have mine!

my father is a disney freak as well, and decided we had to go to epcot the first day it opened. Being born in 78, I dont remember much- although I do recall us having to hike out of spaceship earth, and my mother reminds me that we were darting all over the park as rides were 'finally working again'
