When we got back to the resort I was starting to get into that panicky mode we all experience when our trips are almost over. I didnt want to miss a thing (cue Aerosmith music) so I stopped to see the animals again!
There was a giraffe and ostrich party going on, so I took a couple of pictures of that.
Ill miss you, giraffes. *sigh*
Once we got back to the room John took a little nap while I showered and started packing. We were leaving pretty early the next day, so I wanted to get as much done as possible that evening. After I was ready I woke John up, we watched a little Stacey, and made our way to the lobby.
On our way out we stopped in the resort gift ship. AKL has an amazing gift shop and I had been eyeballing some things in there all week. I ended up getting an AKL pin for myself, a AKL shot glass for my dad, and an AKL ink pen for my mom. I thought about getting some animal print Minnie ears again, but decided against it. I then proceeded to spend about twenty minutes drooling over the Dooney and Bourke sketch totes. I had my beloved crossbody bag, but I just couldnt get over how beautiful the big white totes were. After I wiped the drool of my chin (Not literally! That would be gross!) we paid for our items and moved on.
We didnt have any dinner plans for our last night, so we decided to go to DTD and see if we could squeeze into a restaurant.
When we got to DTD the only parking spot we could find was by the movie theater. We were both exhausted, so neither of us felt like walking to the Marketplace side. We agreed to see if we could get in for dinner at Planet Hollywood.
The hostess working at the podium was less than pleasant, but she did tell us we could be fit in if we waited about thirty minutes. We decided we didnt mind, so she sent us inside to wait.
The place was PACKED, and there were desperate hopefuls just like ourselves standing around aimlessly waiting for a table. I instantly started to get a little claustrophobic, so I told John I was going to walk around and take some pictures while we waited.
I took this one for my mom. Its one of the leather jackets from the movie Wild Hogs. My mom loves that one! She is a huge Tim Allen fan.
This one was for ME. Its Jacks outfit from Titanic! EEP!
I was so excited. This had been a week full of Titanic memorabilia!
I got really excited about this one too. Its from the Arnold Schwarzanegger (or however you spell it) Christmas movie, Jingle All The Way. I LOVE that movie. Youre my numbah one customah! If youve seen it you will totally understand my typed out version of Arnolds accent. If you havent seen it, just ignore me.
The next few I took for John.
He loves both of those movies!
So when I got back to John we proceeded to stand around for a while longer and wait and wait and wait. Okay we had been waiting for a REALLY long time. Definitely longer than thirty minutes, and that places was just getting more and more crowded.
As much as we wanted to have a nice dinner on our last night in Disney, we both decided it wasnt worth waiting anymore, so we got the heck out of there!
So where did we end up going for dinner on our last night in Disney World?
McDonalds.
Yeah, Im not kidding. Can you believe that?! We were both pretty disappointed, but honestly we were just too tired and hungry to care.
When we got back to the resort after our less-than-satisfying dinner John and I were both feeling a little blue. It was our last night in Disney! WAHH! Luckily, there was a pleasant surprise waiting in our room for us!
Okay so please remember this was the first time we had ever stayed in a deluxe resort, so we werent sure if a turn down service was automatically included or if we just got lucky. Either way, we were pretty excited! We were definitely feeling like the Ritzies at this point! (Fresh Prince of Bel Air reference, anyone?)
So cute! There was a little white chocolate mask thing, some other chocolates, and a room service menu! When we saw that we both wished that we had gotten that for dinner instead of boring McDonalds! Oh well, maybe next time!
The turn down service managed to turn our frowns upside down. (Cheesiest sentence EVER, right there.) We turned on Stacey and chatted about our trip while we did some more packing. Im pretty sure it was at this point that we started making plans for our next trip! Haha, what can I say? Im a true DISer!
Even though I wanted to drag out our last night, my brain had other plans, and I just couldnt stay awake anymore. We crawled into bed, said goodnight, and drifted off on our last night in Disney.
Up Next: Johns got one more surprise up his sleeve! You wont want to miss this! Stay tuned!
