I love the smell of candles in the house. I usually have several burning throughout the day. I am having a problem with them keeping their scent.
I have tried Home Interiors, Yankee Candle and a few others. What is the best candle that keeps their scent while burning? When I burn a candle, I want to smell it.

TIA!!!

Try one of those electric burners. I have a YC McIntosh Apple that I've been melting for a couple of months and the scent, while not a strong one, is still good.

I have one, and it works for a while. Then the scent is gone, worse tah when I burn it.

I have found that Yankee Candles hold their scent until the jar is empty. That is why I have so many of them.

This is what I found out too. So I switched to tarts. They seem to be the best option.

I buy candles from Illuminations, they have jar candles that fill the entire house up and they offer great scents

I think they are similar to the Yankee Candle Company, I have never bought one though so can't say for sure.

I currently have a Yankee Housewarmer and its ok....I believe its called 'Christmas Eve'.
I did buy a candle from Bath and Body Works, Spice. It is really strong. I always thought Yankee Candles were the primo candles, but am a little disappointed. Maybe I just got a bad candle.

Your Yankee Candles lose their scent?! Whoa, all the ones I've had I can clearly smell until the candle is gone. I have a Sun Washed Linen (I think that's the name, it's yellow) largest housewarmer and it smells as strong as it did the first time I lit it. I also have the smallest housewarmer in Comfort and it still smells nice.

Gold Canyon Candles beat Yankee, hands down, and they burn cleaner. I guarantee if any Yankee fans tried one, they'd be hooked! Ginger Lime is my absolute favorite scent. They don't sell tarts like Yankee though. I wish they had a lemon scent like Yankee too- Lemon Zest is one of my favorites, and I buy it in the votives from time to time.

Man, I wish our Yankee Candles would lose their scent.
We've got a balsam fir one going now. It's on it's 2nd or 3rd Christmas, and I'm sneezing like crazy  I'm stuffed up and can still smell the thing. Most of our Yankee Candles are like that too.

You do get used to the scent after a few weeks. That is why sometimes you can think something smells like your gramma's house, but she doesn't notice the scent. You will notice a new scent (candle, dog, cat litter) for a couple weeks, but then you will be used to it. People visiting will notice the scent, but you probably won't.

That said, I use a Yankee housewarmer and a tart together. I notice it right when I start burning it, but I am used to it after a couple hours and can't smell it anymore.

I've never had a Yankee Candle jar candle lose it's scent, but some scents are definitely stronger than others.

I bought the White Chocolate Mint that everyone here was boasting about a month or so ago saying it was so strong. I can hardly smell mine at all!

Then I'll get another one like Pineapple Citrus and it is so strong it fills my whole house with the scent.

I think for the strongest scent, the little Tarts are the best thing going. They only last about 4 (4-5) hour burns, but they are so strong and for the small price you pay for a tart, it's well worth the money. It's a great way to sample new scents without spending a fortune in something you might end up not liking.

I recently tried the Old Virginia Candle Co's wax melts and they are nice too, but I don't get as long out of them as I do a Yankee Candle tart.

I think Yankees really are terrible quality - tarts and housewarmers. Big $$ and little smell. Even at others homes...

The best ones I've found are Henri Bendels, sold at White Barn, some of the White Barns are strong, and Dreamers.

I am also thankful to have an aunt that triple scents hers and one small jar will fill my entire 3000 sq ft home. I put a Yankee in my tiny office at work and have to walk to my desk to smell it =(

I'd ask around and see if someone you know makes candles - they are often cheaper and better scents quality. Plus you support someones home based business =)

Funny enough the best candles i've ever found are from the Dollar Tree. I'm not sure of the brand, but they are in a rounded glass jar, right now i'm burning pumpkin pie scent and it's wonderful!

I have to agree that these have a very lasting scent! I have had the lemon in a little tin container and it smelled till it was gone!

Another Yankee Candle fan here ~ I'm burning Home for the holidays, Christmas Eve and Christmas Pudding at the moment. The smell is throughout the entire house.

I am going to have to try the other brands. I just recieved these candles for X-mas.
No one can really smell these candles, they are 'Christmas Eve, Christmas Cookies, and Home for the Holidays'. For the money, I am just not impressed. I didn't know Henri Bendels made candles, nice store. Bet they are EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!
