DH and DS (15 months) will be in Disney World 28 Sept - 5 Oct. It will be our first time at WDW with a child in a stroller. Every previous trip I always swore I wouldn't take a child until he/she was walking and did not need a stroller...Boy how things change once you have a child of your own and are going through Disney withdrawl!!
My question is, are the strollers that are left in "stroller parking" fairly safe? I know enough not to leave valuable items in the stroller while it is "parked". But has anyone experienced any theft of items from their stroller? Also, I am wondering if it would be easier to identify my own personal one in the "stroller parking" rather than one of a dozen rented from the park itself. what do most people do, bring their own or rent? If you rent, are they comfortable and clean?

We have always taken our rather expensive stroller and never had a problem with it

We've always taken our own stroller (which is also an expensive one) and never had any problems. We always take our bag with our camera, camcorder, etc. into attractions with us. Sometimes we do leave our other bags in the stroller, and we've never had a problem with that either!:D

You will run across people who have had their strollers stolen in WDW; but I don't think it's a common occurence.

We always use to take our own stroller because there were times when I wanted outside of the parks. I also wanted one that would recline and was comfortable.

A 15 month old will be very uncomfortable in the rental stroller, plus I found that "theft" of the rental strollers is high while personal strollers are left alone. I'm not sure if people take the wrong stroller by mistake or since somebody took theirs they take someone else's stroller.

We had no problem with our expensive stroller, and even left the diaper bag in the basket of the stroller. I used a bike lock at first, but later I just left the stroller. You can't lock the stroller to anything because the CMs move them. There always seems to be a CM around the stroller, so that might deter any theft.

I have always taken my own stroller, especially when our boys were really young. The rentals do not recline and are not padded. Also, I didn't want to carry the boys back to the hotel at the end of the day. I always back two bags when we go. One is small and I put all our valuables in it. We take this with us on all attractions. I then pack another bag with diapers, change of clothes, etc which I leave with the stroller. I have never had a problem with anyone taking anything.
