Strollers Question......

What type of strollers are available at WDW? We are taking our soon to be 6 yr old autistic (PDD) son and although he is strong and active, he does wind down late in the day and a stroller would really help. However, he is a big boy for soon to be 6. Does WDW have different size strollers?

The strollers will hold a 12 year old so your 6 year old won't have a problem.

just agreeing with Michigan. The strollers are roomy and do come in more than one size. CMs have posted on the boards that they will fit up to a small 12 yr old.
I don't have a link here, but if you go to Deb Wills site (I think it's wdwing.com) she has pictures of the strollers from each park.

Hi My name is Kelly...Not only do I live in orlando..i also work on property and am geting my masters in Occupational Therapy...I just want to suggest a couple of things about the strollers at Disney...First of all...get your son a DOUBLE stroller...that way he can have more room to stretch out when he finally collapses also make sure the seat belt on the stroller works so you can strap him in to make sure he doesnt bolt

If you scroll down the page you will see link to pics of both single & double strollers from all the parks (only a single pic from AK)

I think stroller rental is $8 single/ $15 double with a $1 return in Disney Dollars when the stroller is brought back.

Just a reminder that the strollers cannot be used past the park entrance/exit so if you think he will be asleep at any point when you leave the park you might want to consider bringing one from home (if you have one that you use). DS was 4 1/2 on our last trip and we decided to purchase one that he would fit in comfortably and have it in the airports and outside the parks. It came in handy as he often fell asleep in it at the end of the day and we just wheeled it right out to the bus stop. Just a thought
